    3. A few weeks ago, I asked for help in locating a newspaper known as The Herald-Advertiser in which an extensive article about my great grandfather appeared. I now know the location. The Herald-Advertiser was published from 1927 to 1979 in Huntington, W.Va., as the combined Sunday edition of The Herald-Dispatch and the Huntington Advertiser. I have been in contact with the associate editor at The Herald-Dispatch, which is the only surviving newspaper of the three. However, he was unable to provide any information about the writer of the article, R.C. Hall. I now know of at least two articles that R.C. Hall wrote about men who achieved some prominence in the 19th century. The articles also include information about the men's families. Both appeared in the Herald-Advertiser in the 1930s. Does anybody on these lists have any knowledge about a newspaper writer named R.C. Hall? It is possible that he actually worked for a syndicate that sold its stories to many newspapers. -- Karl Seitz
