Researching GRIMM, HAMILTON, POLING, SCHOLL/SHULL, SHAW, SHEETS living in Berne Twp and Rush Creek Twp in Fairfield Co, Marion Twp in Hocking Co, and Jackson Twp in Perry Co, especially from about 1830 to 1900. Two of my gggrandfathers were JOSEPH S SHAW [1800-1866] and NOAH GRIMM [1822-?] of Marion Twp. Though Joseph and his wife PHEBE (POLING) SHAW arrived from WVa, a number of other Polings: including Benjamin, Richard, Samuel, and Martin lived nearby on Rush Creek. Presumably, they were Phebe's relatives. Joseph and Phebe had at least 5 children: William, Sarah Ann (Shaw) Sheets, Elizabeth Ann (Shaw) Shull, Joseph Newton, and Baxter Marion [my ggrandfather]. Noah Grimm and hiw wife NANCY (HAMILTON) GRIMM were both born in Fairfield Co, Noah in Rush Crk Twp, Nancy in Berne Twp. Their children included John, Asenath Sarah [my ggrandmother], Jacob, Israel, Sara A., William, Amos and Phebe [later Phebe Call]. I would love to talk with anyone looking into any of these families.
