WILLIAM BROWN, b. 1757 (MD?) d. 1853 Hancock County, OH, Rev. War Soldier. m. Ruth Lane, d/o Rev. Samuel Lane. Lived in then Bedford County, PA in the area today called Shirley Township, Huntingdon County. Left there in 1799 with family in company of Wilkinson Lane and Clark families for Ohio via Zane's Trace. Ended up the area of Fairfield County near indian village "Toby Town." Stayed in the area today called Royalton, OH SE of Marcy. In 1805 he obtained 320 acres of land in today's Walnut Township, Pickaway County near the intersection of Ashville Fairfield Road and Ringgold Northern Road. He moved onto this land in Fall of 1806.
