Karl, Enjoyed reading your introduction to the Fairfield Co., OH mailing list. For any of us who have done general research on Fairfield Co. names, Seitz and Beery are well known. You mentioned that you probably have distant cousins in the area. I don't know about Seitz, but there are many Beery's descended from Nicholas Beery and his children.
