Hello Fairfield County Rooters, I am looking to fill-in some blanks on one of my main surnames of Fairfield County -- The VICKROY Family -- Eli Wilsey VICKROY (b. 23 AUG 1851 Jlesburg,OH;d. 15 NOV 1930 Hamburg,OH) He was 79 yrs., 2 months, and 23 days old when he died. He died due to suffering fatal injuries infront of his home at Hamburg,OH. When he was struck by an auto driven by the next door neighbor's 18yr.old son. At time of death, he had a brother & sister, 4 sons, & 20 grandchildren still living. Baptized at the Lancaster R.L.D.S. Church on 06 JUL 1924. ~ Married on 08 AUG 1880 to~ Susannah 'Susanna' BURGOON (b. AUG 1858 OH; d. 1923 Fairfield Co.,OH) Both Eli and Susanna are buried in the Hopewell Cem., Hamburg, Amanda Twp., Fairfield Co.,OH with other family. They had 8 known Children ( 2 daughters, 6 sons ) : - All children born in Fairfield County. - 1. Amanda Alice VICKROY (b 19 JAN 1874 ; d 30 OCT 1910 Fairfield Co.,OH) Buried in Hopewell Cem., Amanda Twp,Fairfield Co.,OH ~ Never Married and had No Children. 2. Thomas H. VICKROY (b 05 JAN 1884;d 16 OCT 1964 OH) ~ Married to Emma A. ? (b 19 JUL 1896;d 12 MAR 1968 OH) ~ Thomas & Emma had 10 Children ( 9 daughters, 1 son ). Lived in Lancaster, Fairfield Co.,OH. Both buried in Hopewell Cem., Fairfield Co.,OH. * I have more on their descendants. 3. Irvin Henry VICKROY (b 17 MAR 1887;d 16 OCT 1955 OH) Buried at the Forest Rose Cemetery, OH ~ Married 12 MAY 1913 in OH to~ Orpha May MOURY (b. 08 OCT 1895 OH) ~ Irvin & Orpha had 10 Children ( 6 sons , 4 daughters ). * I have more on their descendants. 4. William Peter VICKROY (b 12 SEP 1889 Amanda, Hocking Twp.,Fairfield Co. ; d 05 DEC 1957 Lancaster, Fairfield Co.,OH) ~ Married on 22 DEC 1920 in Lancaster, Fairfield Co.,OH by Wallin RIEBEL, Minister of the Gospel, Lancaster. to ~ Esther 'Mae or May' WRIGHT (b 02 MAY 1902 Lancaster,OH;d 05 DEC 1957) [ William & Esther died together in their home due to carbon monoxide poisoning from a heater.] William & Esther are buried in Hopewell Cem.,OH. ~ Children: ( No children; then adopted kids.) * I have more on their adopted child's descendants. 5. George B. VICKROY (born 17 OCT 1892 ; Killed in action 15 JUL 1918 WW1 ) He was buried in France. He enlisted in O.N.G. in JUN of 1916, serving his time on Mexican Border. He resided in Columbus and was to serve country on 15 JUL 1917 in WW1. Became a Cpl. in the Rainbow Division Co. L 166th Inf. A tombstone for him in Hopewell Cemetery, Fairfield Co. ~ Married on 21 APR 1917 to ~ Retha HOFFMAN of Lancaster, Fairfield County, OH. ~ No children - that I am aware of. 6. Clarence E. VICKROY (b 13 MAR 1896 Fairfield Co.,OH; died *20 SEP 1964 Lancaster, Fairfield Co.,OH-at home) *maybe died 12 SEP. He was buried at St. Mary's Cem. ~Married on 14 OCT 1916 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lancaster, Fairfield County, OH to ~ Elizabeth WOLSHIRE (b 23 SEP 1888 [maybe Sugar Grove] Fairfield Co,OH;d 13 NOV 1967 Lancaster,OH) She was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery,Lancaster,OH. Her Parents: John WOLSHIRE & Elizabeth MATHENY ~Clarence & Elizabeth had 5 Children (2 daughters & 3 sons) * I have more on their descendants. 7. unknown VICKROY Son at this time 8. unknown VICKROY Daughter at this time Would like to exchange information with others.
