While visiting in Lancaster last week, I was privileged to attend the October genealogy society meeting. For you tolks you have not had the opportunity to personally visit in this county, I want to tell you the Fairfield Chapter of the Ohio Genealogy society is an active group. Their speaker Thursday evening explained the information we might find looking at deeds. An officer reported that their programs for 1999 are almost all lined up, and sounded interesting enough to me that if I were to win the lottery I would "jet back" for several of them. This group has published a monumental amount of information in the last twenty years. On Friday evening the group will host their annual lock-in at the Lancaster Public Library. Perhaps one of the officers will send us a report when it is over. So folks, if you are going to be in Fairfield County on the third Thursday of the month, contact the group and find where their meeting will be held.
