I am happy to report that the 4th annual lock-in held 23 Octber was a success! We had over 30 genealogists in attendance and a great time was had by all. One researcher from Fremont, Sandusky Co., Ohio has yet to miss a lock-in and has told us that he comes as much to see everyone as he does to do research. Thanks Tom! This year the genealogist that came the furthest was from Michigan. I should tell everyone that she has a cottage at the Lancaster Methodist Camp Grounds and for the last 3 years has stopped in at the library while in town to close the cottage for the winter and sees the notice about the lock-in being held that night. Talk about serendipity in genealogy! She is always in the right place at the right time. Plans for next year's lock-in are up in the air at this time as the library will be undergoing extensive renovations during 1999. I will be sure to post to the list as soon as we have any information about the 5th annual lock-in! Karen S. Smith Corresponding Secretary, Fairfield Co. Chapter OGS
