John was born in Basil, Switzerland about 1793. They came to America in 1831. I don't have a birth or marriage for Sophia. I have that she died in 1854. I looked for her under Friedly in the 1850 census and could not find her. Could this be your gal? Do you have any information on children Sophia may have had?
