    1. Re: KRAUS, BOWEN, KING, STEVENSON, GLANVILLE
    2. My biggest stone wall is that of Lucinda KRAUS who was born in OH (1850 Census Index for Fairfield Co., OH). I have not been able to locate her parents. The name KRAUS is possibly a variation of the name, KRAUS, KRAUSE, KRAUSS, etc. She married Thomas BOWEN, March 20, 1850, and her name was spelled KRAUS on the marriage license. The main problem with finding her parents is the fact that Thomas and Lucinda married just before this census was taken. If she were still living with her parents, perhaps I may have found them. This 1850 census was enumerated July 25, 1850, and in the index, Thomas BWOEN (misspelled) and Lucinda were visit 201. Thomas's parents were visit 195 - Robert BOWEN, 56 and Susan 58. I do not have access to this actual census now. In the 1850 census, Thomas BWOEN, 32, Farmer, value of real estate: $1700, born Ohio, married within the year, cannot read or write, Lucinda, 24, born F. C. Ohio (probably meant Fairfield Co., Ohio) married within the year and John KING, 17, born Franklin C., Ohio. It was printed this way, probably to make it different from that of John KING?. Just now realized that the KING's are related to me, too, through the BOWEN and STEVENSON families from the same area. Lucinda KRAUS BOWEN died March 20, 1850, and was buried Union Grove Cemetery, Canal Winchester, OH. She had 4 children before she died: Irwin BOWEN, b. about 1851 Minerva (Rachel) BOWEN, b. August 11, 1852 Oliver Perry BOWEN, About 1853 Olive L. BOWEN, June 5, 1855, (my grandmother, who died long before I was born) If anyone knows anything about this family, or has an idea of what I can do now, please let me know. Thomas BOWEN later married Hanna(h) GLENVILLE on June 20, 1858. Her name may have been GLANVILLE. I found the GLANVILLE name in the Canal Winchester area and they are related through Thomas BOWEN's mother, Susan STEVENSON BOWEN. Any help appreciated.
