    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hensel Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/2VB.2ACE/434.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Rick, I don't want to deter you from using the internet. I've been researching for almost 25 years now, and have been online since it's dawning. Years ago we researchers use to only dream about what the internet could do for genealogists, and now it's unfolding right before our very eyes. It's always been detective work, both pre and post internet days, but now our detective skills also involve knowing what the best search engines are :) Putting your info on the internet is also not a bad thing, and is often easier than most people realize. But unless the person posts their sources (which you should then also re-document), you need to get in contact with them and/or search for the source yourself. What may have happened -- and I have seen it happen time and time again -- is that someone posted a lineage somewhere. Others have seen it over the years, incorporated it into their own research, and reposted it. Seeing a lineage posted in numerous places at different sites and with different updated dates gives people the preconceived notion that it's just GOT to be right. I'm wondering if maybe that's what's happening with your Arthur Hensel, as I find the same data on the internet that you have, but never are there any sources posted. I would recommend you email them if they left an email id, or if that doesn't work, write the person who left their address at the LDS site -- and ask them what there sources are. If Arthur's father William George Hensel died in 1887, there may be some partition records or even a will that mentions Arthur and any other heirs including his wife. Then again, maybe the Arthur you're looking for is actually the Arthur who's listed as the son of Jacob and Jane Hensel in the 1880 census of Liberty Twp., Fairfield Co., Ohio [ED 202 page 24D or 169D (depending on which page number you use) visitation 206/218] Good luck! And keep me posted, as I do have several Hensels in my database, including William George. Any updates or corrections would definitely be welcomed.
