    1. GOULD,
    2. Terri L. Scott
    3. HI..I'm searching for Gilbert Gould, he was born in Fairfield Co., September 10, 1839. He made his way to Kansas by his marriage in 1876. I would assume that it was his second but no proof about that, just that his wife was very young born in 1857. Quite an age gap there. Anyway, if anyone has any info on Gould's in that area then, I would appreciate it.. Thanks.. Terri

They were: Edward Brown, b:Sept.18,1868 d: Sept.20,1920 Margaret Louise Thimmes Brown b:Jan.18,1869 d: June 24,1934 their children were: Clara Louise Brown and Harry Edward Brown Does anyone have any books of the various cemeteriesi in the Fairfield County area and could look up for me the names of Edward and Margaret. Any assistance will be most appreciated. Thank You, Gwen Jordan

    3. Amy, thanks so much for sending me the EGOLF info from Liberty Twp. Cousin Joe had sent me the info but never gave me any of his proof so I wanted it in my files. Now I have it. Great. Surely our library must have the Liberty Twp., stuff as everything else was there. Maybe it's misfiled or someone else had it out. These lists are wonderful. Thans again. Pat in Fort Wayne

I looked at all the cemetery indexes we had in our library today and unless I missed it, we don't have one. I'm looking for my Henry EGOLF who is supposed to be buried in St. Michael's Reformed Cemetery in Liberty Twp. Thanks. Pat in Fort Wayne

    3. Hi Pat! Yes, Liberty Twp. has been done. Here's what I found: From "Cemeteries of Liberty Township, Fairfield County, Ohio" (Fairfield County Chapter, OGS: 1989), p. 68: Bickel or St. Michaels Church Cemetery-- EGOLF, Elizabeth, d. May [or Mar.] 31, 1843 aged 34y 8m 1d EGOELF [or OGOELF, Henery [or Henry], d. [Aug. 5] 1829 [aged 75y] The cemetery was read in 1986. Information in brackets comes from a reading done in the 1940s. Hope this helps! 3. Folks; I am sorry, but I will be off for, I hope a short period of time. I am at a friends house and using her computer as my hard drive has bad sectors and has taken a walk on me. Computer will be in the shop for whatever time it takes to replace hard drive (boohoo). Fortunately this will be warranty work. But I am sure I will be going into withdrawals soon if it takes more than a day or two (I love being on the computer). All cards of sympathy will be greatly appreciated (just kidding of course -grin). Will let you know when I am back to do more lookups for you when I get my baby (computer) back. Later. 3. A further update on the lock-in: We had 6 weeks previous to the lock-in been giving beginning classes in conjunction with the library. About 50 people attended each of the 2 hour once a week sessions. One young woman, who had just started on her genealogy, found her ancestors listed on the LDS genie system. Further investigation showed that the church records were available through LDS Family History library. She no doubt has been up to the library in Reynoldsburg already to order the film covers the years when the children of this family would have been baptisted and confirmed. Another participant at the lock-in had attended our beginning classes and was able to find in our midst a researcher searching the Rittgers family. Here is the requested report about the 3rd annual lock-in that was held on Friday, October 24, 1997 at the Fairfield County District Library. We had a great turnout as usual. There were about 40 people that showed up and several volunteers. Thanks to everyone who helped! Don't know if anyone made any fantastic discoveries but several people seemed to find at least something that they were looking for. We had a couple from Missouri and someone from Michigan! The Fairfield County Chapter of The Ohio Genealogical Society would like to express deep gratitude to Gayle Gardner, the former genealogical librarian at the Emporia Public Library in Lyon County, Kansas for passing along the wonderful idea of having a lock-in. Thanks Gayle!!!! Karen S. Smith Trustee-At-Large, Ohio Genealogical Society Public Relations Chair, Ohio Genealogical Society Corresponding Secretary, Fairfield County Chapter OGS

    3. Hi Patt, These are marriages that I have indexed from copies of old newsclippings myself. Not in a book that I know of so far, by anyone else. They were taken from an old Lancaster newspaper, but were clipped out and pasted in scrapbook form. Now keep in mind that is all they are. I am assuming they got the info from the courthouse to print in paper and they are only for years ca 1802-35. The names in some cases were spelled differently as they are here in your case, but not necessarily correct. Some of the clippings were hard to read as they were zeroxed and printed very small. So I do not know if the paper spelled your Hively as Heibly or I read a "V" as a "B". I did the indexing about 4 yrs or so ago and crossed indexed as well so each marriage is indexed twice. It took quite a while as I only did a few each evening when I had time and there are upwards of 2500-2900 marriages entered twice. I did it for myself so I could glean what were marriages for my people and you might say it snowballed on me. At any rate here is what I have for you. Did you use to be on Prodigy? I have been giving these marriages out on Prodigy Gen. BB for several years now. Good Luck in your research. Darleen EGOLF, CATHARINE-DAN'L HEIBLY-DEC 1824 EGOLF, JOSEPH-MARGARET HEIBLY-NOV 1824
