    1. [OHFAIRFI-L] Foreign Family Origins of Fairfield County Settlers
    2. Carol Swinehart
    3. I would love to have the most complete list possible of Fairfield County place of foreign family origins not only to publish on this list but to put on the webpage and in the Fairfield Trace. This does not mean they came directly from this foreign place - they could have stopped off somewhere else i.e. PA or VA. * = directly from foreign country/place The actually people you have in Fairfield County did not have to come from the foreign country. I will get you started: Swinehart/Sweinhardt/Schweinhardt - Jungholzhausen, Baden-Wuertemberg *Betz - Eichtersheim now Angelbachtal, Baden-Wuertemberg Spohn- Mosbach, Baden-Wuertemberg Homrighoussen called Houser in FCO - Diedenshausen, Wittgenstein, Prussia Foltz/Voltz/Fultz/Vultz/Vols - Boeckingen and Grossgartach near Heilbrun, Baden-Wuertemberg Reising/Rising - Hartenstein, Bavaria *Baumann - Eichtersheim now Angelbachtal, Baden-Wuertemberg Bogenreiff - Niederhochstadt/6471 Hochstadt, Pflaez/Palatinate Schaeffer- Relsberg-Niederkirchen, Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz Anspach - Steinbach, Hesse near Frankfurt Quickel-Brandau, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany If you want to send this info directly to me I will compile them and post them all at one time to the list. I'll give everyone about a week to participate if they are interested. Thanks for the help. 1. [OHFAIRFI-L] Cost of Living Calculator
    2. Carol Swinehart
    3. The American Institute for Economic Research is an independent non-profit research and educational organization. It is not a genealogy service. Yet, the Interactive Cost-of-Living Calculator on the Institute's Web site can be helpful to genealogists. It can calculate dollar equivalencies for any two years between 1913 and 1997. The obvious advantage of the calculator on the Web is that it is free. It is also conveniently accessible. The big disadvantage is that it only goes back to 1913. Many genealogists will want to go back to earlier years. COLA will go back to 1749. If you would like to try out the free Interactive Cost-of-Living Calculator, look at: http://www.aier.org/ As per Eastman's Online Newsletter Carol Swinehart cshart@greenapple.com <smaller>List Adminstrator of Fairfield County, Ohio Mailing List</smaller>: OHFAIRFI-L@rootsweb.com <smaller>Stop by the Fairfield County,Ohio Webpage</smaller>: http://www.fairfieldgenealogy.org <smaller>or Fairfield County, Ohio GenWeb page: </smaller>http://www.greenapple.com/~ksmith/que.html My FCO Fam: Swinehart, Homrighouser, Betz, Foltz, Quickel, Anspach, Spohn <smaller>Library & Church Archive links</smaller>: http://www.greenapple.com/~cshart/liblinks

    1. [OHFAIRFI-L] Lynch - Rodgers/Rogers
    2. Rizerk
    3. Drusilla Lynch was born in 1802, the dau. of Jonathan Lynch and Ruth Springer. Drusilla Lynch married Nicholas Rodgers/Rogers, 3 October 1819 in Fairfield Co. The marriage record seems to call the groom Nathaniel, but the land records say Nicholas. Nicholas and Drusilla Rodgers/Rogers seem to have had these seven children, (Though there is a large range of birth dates): Sarah b. about 1820, Catherine b. about 1822, Elizabeth Rogers b. about 1824, Abigail b. about 1827, Margaret b. about 1831, Robert b. about 1840, and Caroline Rodgers/Roger b. about 1843. Does anyone have any leads to share on this family?

    2. Carol Swinehart
    3. I am working on getting the unsolicted advertisements off the list permanently. Please bear with me for a day or so and no more hair adds will appear if all goes well. As far a reunion notices since some have asked, if your family is from Fairfield County and the vicinity I see no reason not to advertise a reunion as they are off good sources of genealogical information. What we don't want is people to advertise reunions of families with no connections to Fairfield County, Ohio. Responding to my comment on a Scholl/Sholl/Shull genealogy from Carol Swinehart [off-list]: >Is there any information in your book on Emma Shull 1852-1907 married >1872 to Charles Rabe (1850-1927)??? I'm afraid not. The book has 27 Emma Shull references and 45 to Emma Scholl, but none from Fairfield County. The only Rabe mentioned was arrested in 1928 for getting a young Mary Scholl "into trouble". Bert Shaw
