My father-in-law suffered a stroke last week and is coming home from the hospital tomarrow so I will be not able to read my e-mail for a while. Considering his age soon to be 91, he is probably better than most 60 years olds that have had strokes. Please do not respond to this message please or send me any other type of e-mail inquiries. I need help with "new" genealogy, please. This is the only Ohio list I am on so if you can think of another list that might help, please feel free to forward it on! My nephew attended the High School soccer cup last week end in Dayton. Bloom Carroll came out first in their division. We haven't seen anything on the Eagle Gazette, I don't know about Dayton or Columbus. Has anyone else seen this? This is Jason Morris' first big year and we'd really like to have the article? Suggestions? SEARCHING: CAMPBELL, JACOB b-1835 (OH_?) married to Elizabeth Fosnaugh b-1841 (OH-?). Possibly in the Bremen, OH area. CAMPBELL, JOHN WESLEY b-10-10-1865 OH., son of Jacob and Elizabeth. He was one of seven boys born to them. Jackson(Dec 1861) Clearcreek TWP; William (1863); Samuel (Sept 1868), Madison TWP; Harrison (1869); Jacob C. (Dec 1977); and Levi (Aug 1879). Jacob and Elizabeth's marriage is listed in the M to F and F to M Marriage Record Book in the Lancaster Fairfield County Library, genealogy section. a man by the name of Pugh was the Registrar. John Wesley's first wife was Mary Martha Hedges and they had three children: Stella, Grover (My husband's father) and J. Edgar. We know nothing additional about Mary Martha. John Wesley apparently married again - ANNA- and they had a daughter MAE. The three of them are burried in Amanda Cemetry (Fairfield County). There is a K of P marker at his grave but I have been unable to get any information from that organization re: his memebership application. My husband recalls visiting grandparents in Chillicothe OH (Ross Co.) and they had a bottling co. and lived on the hill in the Western ave. vicinity. His brother recalls a name Hussey (sp). Could she have been Anna Hussey? Would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you, B. Maxine Campbell - in Alb. NM now. BMaxCam@aol.com
Can anyone help me find the parents and siblings of my GGG Grandmother, Margaret McCabe, born 1805 in Fairfield County, Ohio. I believe I have narrowed her parents down to either Isaiah McCabe and Jean McCune of Hocking Township, who are mentioned on early census records, or Sosthenes McCabe and Mary Owins/Owens also of Hocking Township, Fairfield County. Margaret married John Jacob Klinker in Dec 1832 in Fairfield County, which marriage record I have managed to locate, but it doesn't indicate names of parents. John Jacob's father, Henry Klinkert, is shown as owning the 80 acres exactly adjacent to Isaiah McCabe, but I have not been able to verify Margaret as a member of Isaiah's household yet. Margaret and John Jacob moved and lived the rest of their lives in Mahaska County, Iowa. John Jacob had a 40 acre patent in Fairfield County--can anyone tell me if the original deed or application would give any helpful info, or how I might get a copy of such. Thank you, Gary Chantry chantryg@iomet.com

Does anyone have any information on St Jacob's Reformed Church near Kirkersville? My gggrandfather Jacob Schlabach and his wife Elizabeth Brossman are supposedly buried in this cemetery and he allegedly helped form this church. About 12 years ago, I tried to locate this on a quick journey in the county but was unsuccessful. Jacob was born in 23 Feb1796 in Adams Co, PA and died 17 Mar 1817. Fellow researchers: I received this from a friend who received it from another list: I have another way of explaining family relationships which I think makes the relationships clear. First Cousins share common grandparents Second Cousins share great-grandparents Third Cousins share great-great-grandparents Fourth Cousins share g-g-g-grandparents Fifth Cousins share 4g-grandparents Etc. The "once-removed", etc. occurs when two individuals differ in the number of generations from the common ancestor. If the great-grandparent of one individual is the great-great grandparent of the second individual, the two are Second Cousins, Once-Removed. 1. To calculate the relationship, find the closest common ancestor. 2. Determine the degree of "cousinship" from the above table or a continuation of it. 3. Determine the number of generations that the more distant is individual further removed from the common ancestor. This is the number of "Times Removed". Example 2. An individual's 4g-grandparent is the second individual's 6g-grandparent. They are Fifth Cousins, (share 4g-gp), Twice- Removed (6g-gp - 4g-gp). Hope this helps. Note: Genealogies which number individuals using the Modified Henry System, permit calculating the relationship directly from the individual's numbers. In the Modified Henry System, each individual's number represents his family line in the family being discussed. The number of digits is the number of generations from the first listed ancestor. The value of a digit represents the birth order, (when known), with a, b, c, etc representing children 10, 11 and 12 (for larger families). Letters at the end of the alphabet may be used when birth-order is unknown. A "." is often used to provide a break every 5 generations to aid in counting. Example: Two individual's # 143a6.84. and 14358.1246. They share the first three generation (to 143.). # 143 is the 2g-gp of the older individual and the 4g-gp of the second individual. This makes them Third Cousins, Twice-Removed. Thanks to Cynthia Brott Biasca who used this system in her book,
