    1. [OHFAIRFI-L] Location of Voting List?
    2. Michael White
    3. Hi all, First I'd like to also say thanks to Timothy Fisher for transcribing the Graham History. Well done! (Out of curiosity - are you scanning it in using OCR or just typing?!). Anyway, on what I believe to be page 262 of the Perry County section of THE HISTORY OF FAIRFIELD AND PERRY COUNTIES, OHIO (1883) compiled by A. A. Graham, written by E. S. Colburn and transcribed by Timothy E. Fisher for the Perry Co. Historical Society and found on the web at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~tfisher/fairfield_perry_history.htm is the following list of voters in Reading Township from 1816 or 1817 (Perry County was formed in 1818 - Reading Twp. was still part of Fairfield County at this time.) My question is: Does anyone know where this list is currently held? Thanks, - Mike White white@halfdome.engr.ucdavis.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------------ P.S. 3. AOL has been bouncing messages from Rootsweb since yesterday. It is inconsistent, as not all AOL subscribers to PHILLY-ROOTS-L are bouncing, and different addresses are bouncing on different messages. This sort of thing has happened in the past, and it usually takes a few days to clear up. So, if you are an AOL user and you seem to be getting only some of the PHILLY-ROOTS-L messages, or you know an AOL user who has been having problems with the list, tell them to be patient, as this is one of the benefits of using AOL. 3. The Berachah (Blessing) church was built in 1898 on the southeastern part of Samuel Deffenbaugh's farm., Section 2, Hopewell Township, Perry County. It was about 2 miles south of Brownsville, Bowling Green Township, Licking County, Ohio. The members had left the Greenwood Brethren church in 1882-3. The Greenwood church had been built in 1878, also on the Deffenbaugh farm, but to the west. Sam's wife, Mary Mack Deffenbaugh, claimed to be a fifth generation descendant of Alexander Mack, organizer of the church in Schwarzenau, Germany in 1708. Mary was the daughter of John Mack and was probably a cousin of the Nathan Mack(1868-1936) who "always played the cornet for church services." Reference from The Brethren Evangelist, page 4. July 15, 1954. Brethren Church History, Rev. Freeman Ankrum. And added to by family memory. Was the playing of the cornet one of the differences between the Progressive and the Conservative Brethren Church of that day? Nathan and his brother John lived in Brownsville. They married Zella and Della Orr, sisters of Bert R. Orr (1870-1970), all of Brownsville. They were both well known in the Brownsville Band. Twenty-eight-year-old Bert built the Berachah church. He had been married three years to Anna Maude Bowser. We think his sweet wife and his two sisters managed to get him baptized Brethren. But in in his later life there was not much sign of it. The Macks are said to have been in Masontown, German Township, PA before they came to Brownsville. The first Macks arrived in Brownsfille about 1830. 3. This is what I have in my database for the family of Daniel CUPP and Mary Radabaugh. I didn't do the research on this - but I can probably get you in touch with the person who did. Hope it helps. I am interested in the RADABAUGH surname. Linda Descendants of Daniel CUPP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- FIRST GENERATION 1. Daniel CUPP was born in 1801 in Augusta County, Virginia. He died on 13 Dec 1860 in Huntington County, Indiana. The Earhart Papers state they were married in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. This seems odd, but the Earhart Papers indicated it was something the Cupps did -- returned to Pennsylvania to be married. He was married to Mary RADABAUGH (daughter of John Nicholas RADABAUGH Jr and Catharine WAGNER) on 21 Oct 1827 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Mary RADABAUGH was born on 17 Jul 1808 in Fairfield County, Ohio. She died on 16 Dec 1876 in Huntington County, Indiana. She was buried in Sparks Cemetery, Fairfield County, Ohio. Daniel CUPP and Mary RADABAUGH had the following children: +2 i. Urias CUPP. SECOND GENERATION 2. Urias CUPP was born about 1846 in Perry County, Ohio. He died on 29 Jun 1912 in Lafayettte, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. One known child from DAR records. He was married to Catherine HAYS on 15 Aug 1870. Catherine HAYS was born on 15 Oct 1843 in Thornville, Perry County, Ohio. She died on 2 Nov 1877 in Huntington County, Indiana. Urias CUPP and Catherine HAYS had the following children: +3 i. Mary Louisa CUPP. THIRD GENERATION 3. Mary Louisa CUPP was born on 24 Jan 1873 in Huntington County, Indiana. She died on 17 Aug 1949 in Henry County, Indiana. She was married to John Henry RABER on 24 Sep 1889. John Henry RABER was born on 10 Feb 1868 in Wells County, Indiana. He died on 9 Mar 1953 in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana. Mary Louisa CUPP and John Henry RABER had the following children: +4 i. Clyde Kyrle RABER. FOURTH GENERATION 4. Clyde Kyrle RABER was born on 28 May 1892 in Huntington County, Indiana. He died on 24 Aug 1967 in Stuben County, Indiana. He was married to Vesta Beatrice STINSON on 25 Jun 1913. Vesta Beatrice STINSON was born on 11 Aug 1893. She died after 1972. Clyde Kyrle RABER and Vesta Beatrice STINSON had the following children: +5 i. Bonnie RABER. FIFTH GENERATION 5. Bonnie RABER was born on 6 Apr 1917 in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana. Bonnie joined the DAR in 1972, claiming descent from John Nicholas Radabaugh. At that time, she lived at 627 Fairoaks, New Castle, Indiana. She was married to Louis Dean LOWE on 2 Dec 1939. Louis Dean LOWE was born on 3 Jul 1915. -----Original Message----- From: Ken & Carole Baker <kdbaker@huntington.in.us> To: OHFAIRFI-L@rootsweb.com <OHFAIRFI-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, January 22, 1999 7:34 AM Subject: [OHFAIRFI-L] Cupp family >I am looking to trade info on these families. 1. [OHFAIRFI-L] Rife/Reif in Fairfield County?
    2. Paul Rabe
    3. Looking for info on descendants of Hannah/Johanna Reif/Rife; born Hanna Rabe, on 1819 Dec 2 in Bielfadt, Westphalia, PRUSSIA; came to OHIO in 1841; died (probably) in Lancaster on 1870 November 23. Her husband MAY have been Michael, but she appears to have been widowed by 1870. Her obituary simply records her death, and she doesn't seem to appear with any of the Rife/Reifs in the 1860 or 1850 census. Anybody found her in any cemetery, or is anyone following the Rife/Reif line?
