If anyone has easy access to the Fairfield County marriages could you please look up the marriage of a Charles E. Eveland to unknown from 1898-1918. I have him marrying a Llewellyn Mettler in about 1916 but I believe he may have been married twice, so I am looking for a previous marriage before 1916. Is there a plan to transcribe the McNamee/Hite Cemetery? I am descended from the McNamee line. I contacted a John McNamee a few years ago who was going to do some restoration work. I would like to have the address of the Walnut Twp group who is doing the maintenance. Thomas McNamee born 1764 buried there. Susan Ludwig McNamee 1746 his wife and many more. I also show Susan Snyder Showalter b:Oct 24, 1810 Thank you so much for any information on this cemetery and where to obtain records. Bonnie Morris Conrad
Thanks for the information. I just made the connection to my ancestor, Moses Showalter, who is also buried there. Did anyone hear at least part of a brick wall crumble? :o) > The cemetery is still there and under the care of the Walnut Township > trustees. Does anyone know if the McNamee Hite Cemetery in northern Fairfield County just east of Baltimore is still there? About 5 years ago when we visited it most of the stones were broken and propped against trees and such. Beverly Carter [email protected]
I've ordered a couple of death certificates and as it turns out they are not any part of the family I was searching for. I believe I'd be able to scan copies and send them if they would be helpful to anyone. 1) County of Fairfield (File No. 17739) City of Lancaster SAMUEL MAULER b. April 26, 1838 d. August 3, 1918 father: Cornelius Mauler mother: Barbara Hazelton 2) County of Ross (File No. 50682) Liberty Township GEORGE W. MAULER b. July 4, 1843 d. August 18, 1918 father: George W. Mauler mother: Elizabeth Davies Jo in Kansas
Rick - I caught the name of the book you mentioned and wonder if it is about the Hazlett family or merely the author's name. The name is in my family and I am extremely interested as I know that a good many of that family migrated from WV (then VA) county of Pendleton. Would like to know about the book. Jeanne T. Lane
If someone can help, please contact me offline. I recently purchased this new book, and sent for a Will that is listed in it, and the Probate office in Lancaster, informed me that it was not found. I would like to know if the nbr in the book is a misprint, or if maybe they did not really look for it. I have never had any unsatisfaction in the past so don't know where to go from here, since I can't make a trip to Lancaster. I understand they will not let you look yourself anyway. Thanks for any help with this problem. Sue [email protected]
