Since county lines changed a bit in the early days, I am sending this to several county lists. Sorry if you receive it more than once. I am seeking parents and/or siblings of an Isaac MOORE. Here is a timeline of what I do know about him. MOORE, Isaac, b. abt 1770-1775 in PA/CT/NY area; m. about 1805 to WILCOX, Clarissa in Minisink, Orange Co, NY; d. after 1836 in PA/CT/NY area. Eight children were born of this marriage: Mary Ann, b. 9/17/1807 in Minisink, Orange Co, NY; d. aft 1880 in Morrow Co, OH; m. MANVILLE, George; had at least 4 children Isaac Jr., b. 7/27/1810 in Minisink, Orange Co, NY; d. 12/19/1867 in Johnson Co, KS; m. CHAMBERS, Charlotte; had at least 8 children (my line) Nathan, b. 2/4/1813 in Minisink, Orange Co, NY; d. 2/24/1899 in Morrow Co, OH; m. #1 CRAWFORD, Sarah and #2 BABCOCK, Polly STEWART; had 10 children Samuel, b. 3/21/1814 Orange Co, NY (or PA as shown one census record); d. aft 1880; m. WILLIAMSON, Christina; had 3 children Leital/Lytle, b. 2/25/1815 Minisink, Orange Co, NY; d. 4/24/1867 in Daviess Co, MO; m. MANVILLE, Cynthia Arvilla (poss. sister to above mentioned George who m. Mary Ann) Charlotte, b. 12/18/1817 (poss. in CT); d. bef 1880 in OH; m. CHAMBERS, Samuel (prob. brother of Charlotte who m. Isaac Jr) Nancy, b. 1819 in Salisbury, Litchfield Co, CT; d. 4/29/1821 in Salisbury, Litchfield Co, CT Elizabeth Jane, b. 3/30/1822 (poss in CT); m. GORE, John In 1810, Isaac Sr. and family appear in the Minisink, Orange Co, NY census. In 1820, Isaac Sr. and children appear in Salisbury, Litchfield Co, CT census. In 1826, Isaac Sr. wrote a letter from Newburgh, Orange Co, NY to Isaac Jr. in Bloomfield, Morrow Co, OH. (Isaac Jr. was only 16 years old). In 1828, Clarissa died. In 1828, Isaac Sr. applied from Delaware Co, OH to become the administrator of Clarissa's estate. In 1830, Isaac Sr. is shown as head of household in Delaware Co, OH. In September of 1835, Isaac Jr. m. Charlotte CHAMBERS. In Jan of 1836, Isaac Sr. wrote a letter from Westtown, Orange Co, NY to Isaac Jr. in Bloomfield, Morrow Co, OH. I have a possible Isaac Moore in the 1840 Deer Park, Orange Co, NY census. Family oral history (which we all know can be in error) has Isaac Sr. as the s/o (ta da) Isaac MOORE and Christina UNKNOWN. (Cannot find anything on this claim.) I also have Isaac Sr. as being born in PA and again in CT (family oral history). I also have that Isaac Jr. was born in PA (oral family history again). Census records shown Isaac Jr. as being born in NY. Isaac Sr. is shown as NY/PA/CT. I am very confused about this ancestor. He moved around quite a bit for the time (which wasn't easy or cheap). Does anyone have any additional suggestions or, hopefully, a connection? Lois Auburn, CA

Some eighty-five years after Samuel Peters left Maryland>> I can add that Mary Stevenson Peters was born 22 Sept 1773 to Daniel Stevenson born 1737 in Baltimore Co., MD and died near Rushville, Fairfield Co. OH. His grandfather Edward Stevenson was an early settler in MD, and Daniel was a Revolutionary War soldier. One of her descendants was the Peters who married Svetlana Stalin when she came to the U.S. I am also a descendant of Daniel Stevenson through Mary's brother Mordecai Stevenson. My great grandmother was of these Stevensons. Does anyone know if the "Peters Family Genealogical Record and History" is now posted anywhere on-line? Ida Madison [email protected]

There was a Darst family who settled in MO, raised several children, one of whom was named Jacob. He brought his family to Texas and died fighting in the Alamo. I'm not sure where the Darst family moved to MO from. His mother was a Holman, a sister to my 3rd great grandmother Rachel Holman who married James Oliver.
