Dear List. I am seeking the death/burial of Samuel Strunk b abt 1803 and his wife Sarah Jones Strunk b abt 1800. They were married in Fairfield in Dec. 1824. On the 1840 census in Hocking Twp. there were 4 children in their household, 2 boys b 1825-1830 and 2 girls b 1830-1835. By 1850 in Hocking Twp. only the couple and Sarah's mother Margaret Jones are living in their household. By 1860 the couple has moved to Amanda Twp. Samuel Strunk was a shoemaker. I do not find them on the census after 1860. I'd also like to find their children. I find no male Strunks on the 1850 census age 20-25 in Fairfield county that aren't attached to another set of parents. I don't have much hope that I'll ever identify these children. It's possible that none lived to adulthood. I'd appreciate any help someone might have to offer for this family. LouAnn in NC

Hi, I am new to this list but wanted to say that I downloaded it from the Meigs co. site. It can take up to 2-3 days to get your password and authorization to use the site. Also they are down for maintenance once in a while. The Ohio death records are awesome. I just wish we could search by county. I run Windows XP and have a firewall and had no problem getting through to that site. Pat in AZ. --- ohfairfi-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. I, too, had a few problems and this is how I corrected it: 1--I use dial-up with an accelerator; turn off the accelerator. 2--My Flash Player needed updated to the current version (note: if you are using Norton AntiVirus, turn off both the Norton and the Windows firewalls to download the program) These two steps were what I needed before being able to access the site. It was worth the trouble. What operating system and browser are you using? Have you updated with most recent Flash Player? My system is old Windows 98 and if resources are down it will not work. I have reboot to get it working and even then after awhile it freezes up and I have reboot again. At 08:27 PM 2/16/2008, you wrote: >Hmmmm. Hmmmm. I am trying to figure out what is happening for you. I went to the sign in page, typed in a phony sign in, and it stayed on the sign in page with a message "User not found". Then I did my normal sign in and it took me to the home page. It looks a little like the following at the top: {pic. of} FAMILYSEARCH LABS HOME (other stuff) Sign Out { tree } RECORD SEARCH WELCOME: "user name" Can you describe what the top of your page looks like after you sign in? I don't have many Howards or Lutzes in my file. I didn't realize before that mine are in Pickaway, not Fairfield. However, some of the other parts of my family are in Fairfield. Elizabeth Hollenback Bentley's sister Margaret Jones, brothers John & George Hollenback, and nephew Edmund Hollenback were all in Hocking Twp.,Fairfield. If anyone recognizes any of these family members, I'd like to correspond with you. Below are the Howard & Lutz families I have. LouAnn in NC I have no parents or siblings for Henry Howard, b 17 May 1814 m 22 Dec 1844 Pickaway, to Margaret Bentley b abt 1818 Circleville, OH. [Margaret is the d/o John B. Bentley 1781-1826 and Elizabeth Hollenback 1781-1872.] I don't know when/where Margaret died, but Henry d 30 Jul 1850 and is buried in Forest Cemetery, Circleville. Sometime between 1860 and 1870 Margaret moved to Chicago. I last find her there on the 1880 census. They had 3 children: 1. Caroline A. "Carrie" Howard b Dec 1845, Circleville m before 1870 Nelson L. Lutz b abt 1838, OH. Nelson d 3 Jul 1886, Chicago, Cook Co., IL. Carrie was still living in Chicago through the 1920 census. I have no death date for her nor burial data for Nelson. They had 2 children: A. Florence b 1871 d 1906 B. Nelson H. b 1882 d 1934 Chicago. They had children Howard b 1918 and Marie b 1923 2. James H. Howard b abt 1847 Circleville m Josie Barrelle b abt 1858 NY on 5 Sep 1877, Cook Co., IL. I can't find them after the 1880 census in Chicago when they had a son Mark b abt 1879. 3. Marcus B. Howard b abt 1850 lived with his parents through 1870 and listed Brakeman on RR as his occupation. That's the last time I can find Marcus. -----Original Message----- From: ohfairfi-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ohfairfi-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of RaymondHow@aol.com Sent: Friday, February 15, 2008 4:17 PM To: ohfairfi@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OHFAIRFI] Lutz, Howard lines Hmm, I don't see your Lutz and Howard in my lines.
