Reply: Natasha From "Sandusky Then and Now" p. 117-8 "Daniel REINHEIMER, a son of Peter REINHEIMER and his wife Elisabeth, was born in 1815 in Horschbach, Rhenish Palatinate, and came to Sandusky in 1840. He was a carpenter by trade. In 1844 he was married to Regina EMMELE and to them were given eleven children. Then years later the family moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. "Wilhelm REINHEIMER, his brother, was born on December 3, 1822, and in 1845 made Sandusky his permanent home. He was married to Eva Catharina BENZ in 1847 and from this marriage nine children were born all of whom except one are living. "Jacob REINHEIMER, born October 1, 1820, was the last of the family to leave the old paternal home with his aged parents. From the old diary of Peter REINHEIMER, deceased, I take the following: 1848 May 18 Left Horschbach May 24 Arrived in Landau June 1 Beginning of the ocean voyage July 9 Arrival in New York July 21 Arrival in Sandusky September 1 Bought a building site for the sum of $330 In the next month built a house which cost $486.40. "Peter REINHEIMER and his wife died many years ago." p. 145-6 Jac. REINHEIMER and Wm. REINHEIMER are listed as members of the Sandusky Schutzenverein (translation: The Sandusky Rifle Club), founded in 1861. p. 271 Elisab. REINHEIMER, d. 16 OCT 1854, was married in 1847 to Peter REISS, b. 15 AUG 1823, in Rhenish Bravaria. He was married 2nd to Martha Elisab. BRAZEL on 7 DEC 1854. He was wounded at Gettysburg on 2 JUL 1863 and died in a hospital on 9 JUL 1863. p. 321 Only lists Elis. REINHEIMER as the maiden name of Peter REISS's wife. Hope this helps! Carol
