His father was Henry Wilhelm Leydorf. 10 children (8 living in 1894): Kunigunde (wife of John Louis VonSlagle), Matilda K., Frederick W., Magdalena, Anna Margaret, Maria Theresa, Amelia and Amanda - 1860-1866 Prussian Army - 1867 married Anna Maria Baechman - 1868 both immigrated to US (Sandusky) - 1872-75 engaged in hotel business in Sandusky - 1873 organized Sandusky military company, elected captain In fall 1875 moved to Chicago Junction, Huron Co, OH.
