He was born c. 1846. He married Eleanor Virginia Wilson who was from Neshoba County, Mississippi. The Texas census shows the family to be living in Washington County, Texas, in 1880. This census indicates that his father was born in Ohio. It also shows the oldest son, Samuel Eugene, b. 1871 in Austin County, Texas. We have not been able to trace William Eugene back any further than this date. This family later moved to Comanche County, Texas, where he died in November, 1889. I also located an orbituary about a John Edward Deeley - Comanche County, Texas- dated May 9, 1913. It states that he was reared in Canton, Ohio. I do not know if John Deeley and my William Deeley were related but thought there might be some connection. We are looking for any connections to our William Eugene Deeley which would give us further information about him. William is really a stubborn fellow as we have continued to hit brick walls in our search. Thanks for your reply.
