Hi List, I was responding privately to a connection to the HORN family and figured that it might be beneficial to repost information on families I am researching in Erie and Huron Counties. If anyone sess a connection, I would be happy to share more details. The earliest information traces to a William/Wilhelm Miller b.1801 and Elizabeth Detrich b.1805 from Holzheim and Diez, Nassau, Germany respectively. In 1851, the family came to the US. They first settled in Sandusky, Erie County. William and Elizabeth Detrich Miller's children were: 1. William Miller Jr b.1831 **** my line 2. Charles b. 1829 - a Taylor in Sandusky - Journeyman tailor in Sandusky, partnership in 1856 w/ Julius Robrhan until 1881. 3. Elizabeth 4. Wilhemena/Elmena 5. Philliphine (Philipena) b.1843 6. Anthony Miller b.1848 Note, an obit of Elizabeth Miller, the mother, mentions a son in law William Voight of 882 Railroad Street in Sandusky. Haven't uncovered which daughter he married yet. William Miller Jr. married Philipoena Ohlemacher, daughter of Daniel Ohlemacher and Dorothy Sauer, in Huron County OH on 25 December 1856. They had three children: William* b. 18 Nov 1857 in Lyme Township, Huron Henry* b. 1 January 1858 in Lyme Township Huron Charles* b. 1 January 1860 in Ridgeville, Erie (* all birth dates and locations from family bible.) Phillippiene Ohlemacher Miller died in January 1861 shortly after the birth of Charles. Ohlemacher information from a Ohlemacher book at Bellevue library. She is buried at Riverside Cemetery near Ridgefiled Township, Huron COunty. For a second wife, William Miller Jr married May Jane Gross. Have seen her name as Mary or Jane. She is the daughter of Phillip Gross from Mt Pleasant near Norwalk, Huron COunty OH. No information about her family. Around this time, they moved near Monroeville, actually Groton Township, Erie County OH. This marriage produced the following children: 1. Florance (Flora) married John P Mowry, son of John Mowry from Adelweil, Switzerland. 2. Clara married Gustave G. Horn, son of Phillip Horn, son of Gottfret Horn 3. Emma married Christain Strecker, brother of Jacob 4. Rosa married Jacob Strecker, brother of Christain 5. Rudolph 6. John Edward Miller - twin of Rosa Cecilia - 25 May 1865 died 25 August 1865 7. Rosa Cecilia - twin of John 25 May 1865 and died 23 August 1865 in Ridgefield 8. Lydia married Lewis/Louis Stautzenberger 9. Lawrence T married Amanda Russell daughter of Philip Russell 10. Chanucey married Louise Smith, daughter of Henry Smith, son of John Smith/Johann Schmidt and Annie Kreger. Louise was the twin of Louis. ** my line 11. Frank 12.
