Hi Everyone, This was posted on one of my other lists and I thought you might be interested. Maggie ------------------------------------------------------------------ FORWARDED MESSAGE - Orig: 7-Aug-98 7:22 ------------------------------------------------------------------ The following article appeared in this weeks Vermilion local newspaper: Migration Info Bill O'Brien, of the Inland Seas Museum, and I met with Ms. Lois Cunniff the other day about her project of obtaining historical data on the great migration of Connecticut pioneers into the Western Reserve territory in the years 1790-1830. Cuniff has grants from Connecticut and Ohio to complete a CT-OH Western Reserve Film Project. This will be shown on PBS and throughout the schools in telling a portion of American history that has more or less been forgotten, and yet it was the seeding by people of the great Northwest territory. Stories, incidents, events, diaries about the trip from CT by horse, oxen, walking, or by water would provide basic material to expose the migration, just the stuff Cunniff needs to complete the project. Also stories and experiences of the pioneers in settling the new lands is required. Anyone having a link to add to this historical chain can forward it to this address: Lois Cunniff Productions, Inc,. 27 Washington Sq. N. #2C, New York, N.Y. 10011, 212-477-5055. I will sending any info I have my CT ancestors (Abigail and father Elijah Porter) who settled in Seville, Medina County. Thanks!
