Surnames: Willoughby Trumbull Trumble Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.erie/12881/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear Friends: If I have addressed my query to the wrong place, please recommend a researcher. I would expect to compensate your organization or consider a financial arrangement with a professional researcher. The 1840 federal census recorded the family of Alfred Willoughby in Huron twp., Erie, OH. I have two searches: 1. I am searching for source documents to verify the names of the members of this family and their relationships; e.g., church records such as church membership, tax records, school lists, etc. 2. Obtain a marriage record of *Sarah Emma Willoughby who was married in Erie County circa 1846-47. I am speculating that her husbands name was Abram Trumble (Trumbull). Hopefully, Sarah Emma's maiden name and the name of her parents will be on the marriage record. By the 1850 federal census Alfred Willoughby's family was in Licking County, Ohio. Sarah Emma (Willoughby) Trumble? remained in Erie county. Scattered pieces of information I've accumulated suggest that this family had the following individuals: Alfred Willoughby ........... Father (bn. NY, 1792-3) Nancy (Parsons) ............... Wife .... (bn. 1799) Edwin Clifford Holland W. Son ..... (bn. NY 1822) *Sarah Emma W. ................ Dtr ...... (bn. Hartford, CT 1824) Alfred Parsons W. ............ Son ..... (bn. Hartford, 1826) Sarah (Brown) Parsons .... Mother-in-Law The 1840 census shows the above six people in their appropriate age categories. The father, Alfred was a son and grandson of Baptist ministers; his son, Edwin, became a Baptist minister so I feel certain that their religious affiliation while in Huron was Baptist. I look forward to your reply. Jay Willoughby 5709 S. Broadway (Apt.C) St. Louis, MO. 63111 jaywiloby@ameripost.com
