One of the initial questions was about records. First UCC (as it's now known) does not have records readily available. Their originals (I know of no copies) are kept in a safe off of the premises. Because of my family's relationship (3 of the beautiful stained glass windows in the church are dedicated to family members), I have been able to arrange to look over the records - one volume entirely in German. As a rule, though, these records are not generally accessible.
