This family was named Hills, but on many records the name is recorded as Hill. Ebenezer B. Hills, wife Hannah Unknown. They arrived in Erie County from New York State sometime in the early 1830s. The last record I have of the family in Erie County was 1847. After that, nothing. Ebenezer and Hannah had several children. The only one I have information on is my g-g-grandfather James Melvin Hills. He married Sarah M. Patch in 1844 in Erie County. By 1850, they were in Louisiana with no other family members, except for their children. I do not have names of any of James Melvin Hills' siblings. He was b.1819 in NY and was one of the middle children. As far as I know, all siblings were b. NY. If you have any Hill or Hills marriages into your family who fit this profile, I would love to talk to you. Carol Kilgore
Remember Eliza POWERS HILL and our correspondence? Carol, this seemed creepy to me when you mentioned the relationship between Patch Grove, Wisconsin and the Hill name. Do you think we have a connection?
