Beth Many years ago I sent for my exhusband's grandfather's pension papers. His parents were not named, but boy the information that I did receive was wonderful. There was a description of him, widow's pension denial because of a previous wife that no one in the family know about (also info on 2 unknown to us children of that marriage), documentation of the 1st wife's death, marriage record for the 2nd wife, besides wonderful documentation of his service.
