Carol: Sorry to say...no such master exists. When I am looking for an obituary, I always check the R B Hayes Presidential Library site. Not all obituaries are listed but it sure saves a lot of time if they are listed. The URL for the Obituary Index website of the R B Hayes Presidential Library, Fremont OH. http://www.rbhayes.org/obits/search3.asp 1. Enter last name only to bring up everyone listed with that name. 2. Click Enter 3. From the screen with the list of surnames, click on 'details' in the left column. 4. On this screen, scroll down for more details which may include: spouse, DOD, location of death, other names and obituary listings 5. To search another name, click on 'search again' You will want to check all spellings for that surname. Please remember the only obituaries listed are what has been entered into the system. This is by no means a complete listing....but it helps. jb Janis Burke Erie County Ohio Chapter Ohio Genealogical Society ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Kilgore" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, April 26, 2003 10:34 PM Subject: Re: [OHErie] Source Documentation | Is there a master index list of names and/or articles for these newspapers? | Carol Kilgore | | --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by LRBCG.COM, Inc.]
Thank you. It's nice to have online resources since I live out of the area.
