I'm sorry to post this to the list but hope someone can help solve this mystery. I posted a query on this list and Laura responded that she would do some lookups for me. Screen name: [email protected] She said she was many connections in Sandusky to places few researchers are allowed to go. She said she does lookups as a volunteer and only asks for folks to let her know they received the information and to say thanks you. Then she hinted for money, which I sent, and she sent a few obituaries and said the birth, death and marriage certificates would arrive soon. What did arrive soon was an email saying she had changed her email address to: [email protected] I was online at the time and responded immediately to both addresses and she did not answer or read either of them for several weeks. Finally she said she was tutoring a child and had less time to do research. I have not heard from her since nor does she read my emails. (On AOL you can check to see the mail status.) I am hoping for a simple explanation. Is she sick? Problems in the family? or ??? I have written and ask for most of my money back or for her to do the research she promised but she doesn't read the messages. Does anyone there know her or have a valid explanation, before I proceed? Please contact me off list so that this doesn't become a bigger mess. Thanks, Sharon in So. CA
