I would appreciate any info. anyone may have. Here is what I've found out so far.I have discovered that my g-g-g granfather was Daniel Smith b. 1800 in CT, married to Anna(maiden name unknown) b. 1806 in CT. I am trying to find out who his parents were. I think they may have been part of the Firelands settlement. They are shown in the 1840 and 1850 census in Milan and I'm pretty sure they were in OH by 1825 since the oldest child was born in OH but I'm not sure where they are in the 1830 census since # of children doesn't match what I have from other censuses. In 1850 they are shown living with 4 children Caroline 25, Joel 23( mistakenly listed as age 33), Ambrose 22, and Jane,21,(as well as Joseph and Sarah Clark, ages 24 and Benjamin Turner age 2.) Ambrose is my ancestor and by 1860 he had married ELizabeth and moved to Floyd County, Iowa with his family. Daniel's other son, Joel, appears to have stayed and farmed in Milan until his death between 1887 and 1900, married twice to 1) M. who is gone after 1860, and 2)Celia A (married to Joel by 1874). Joel had 4 children by M.: Walter, Franklin, Burton, and Earnest and 3 by Celia: Earl, Dessie, and Bessie. Celia is widowed and living with her 3 children in 1900 which is as far as I followed them. I have no idea what happened to Daniel and Anna after 1850, and would love to find some info on Daniel's lineage and Anna's. Thanks~ Kristin
