Pat Volz American Lung Association of Ohio -----Original Message----- From: oherie-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:oherie-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Donna Edmondson Sent: Saturday, January 27, 2007 7:28 PM To: OHERIE@rootsweb.com Subject: [OHERIE] FRASHER brothers in Berlin Twp 1860-1880 I am seeking information re: two brothers who lived in BerlinTwp, Erie Co, Oh. during the years of 1860 - 1880. I have their census record information, which states they were from Wurtemburg. I do not know if they were naturalized. Land records seem to appear to have been in their wive's names. FRASHER, Fred, b. abt 1827, Germany, shoemaker, m. Sarah_________, b. NY. Fred died abt. 1870's, at the young age of abt 47, likely, in Berlin Twp., which may have been where he was buried. FRASHER, Joseph, b. abt 1833, Germany, farmer, m. Phila Gillett, likely in NY. Joseph was last recorded in 1870, living in Berlin Twp. In 1880, his widow, Phila, was living in Berea, with the children. I believe that Joseph may have been buried in a Lorain cemetery, however, there is no headstone to verify that. My questions are: 1. Is there a book or listing of tombstone records for cemeteries in Erie Co? Any listing online? 2. Would there have been obituaries in the 1870's? If so, where might I find these? 3. Would a German newspaper have been available in Erie Co? 4. Was there a German church located in the nearby area of Berlin Twp? I would appreciate any assistance that someone 'out there' might share. Thank you so much, Donna, So Cal. --------------------------------- Never Miss an Email Stay connected with Yahoo! Mail on your mobile.
