Erie County Chapter, Ohio Genealogical Society, meeting will be held Monday, March 20th, at the Sandusky Maritime Museum, 125 Meigs Street. There will be a very brief business meeting, installation of Chapter officers for 2006, followed by a guided tour of the museum. Guests are always welcome. Here is a heads up on our April meeting. We will meet April 17th, at Zion Lutheran Church; 7 pm. Guest speaker: Thomas Neal, OGS Librarian from Mansfield. He will give an overview of what is available at OGS. Tom will prepare us for our trip on Saturday, May 13th for a guided tour of the Ohio Genealogical Society facility at Mansfield. This will double as a tour and research day for us. We will meet at the Sandusky Mall by the Cracker Barrel Restaurant. We will leave from the mall at 8 am, arriving at OGS approximately 9:15 am. A guide will direct us to books of interest for Erie County research. Lunch is on your own or you may bring a brown bag lunch. Return departure time will be left up to each driver. Some may want to head home by 2:30 pm others may want to stay until closing at 5 pm. Come and join us as a rider or a driver. A donation of $3 per person, paid to the driver will help cover transportation costs. Reservation deadline is May 1 to enable us to organize car pooling. When you make your reservation, we will need to know if you will volunteer to be a driver or if you are a rider.
