Dear List, I am hitting a roadblock on my grandmother's mother and grandmother.. My grandmother was born in Sandusky. Here is what I know. My grandmother, Sarah Linz (married name Eck) b. 1884 Sandusky d. May 22 1933 in Cincinnati, OH Her father was Conrad Linz b. Mar 3, 1851 (in Baden, I think) d. Oct. 1892 in Sandusky. Sarah's mother, I believe was Josephine Kromer b. 1854 Sandusky d. Jan. 21, 1919 Sandusky. I thought Josehine's parents were Joseph Kromer b. June 9 , 1852 in Germany d. 1904 Sandusky Cecilia Herb Oct. 5, 1837 Sandusky d. May 29, 1876 I can't seem to get all those people and dates to mesh with what I have found on the internet. Can anyone confirm or correct any of this information? I would really appreciate your help. Jeanne, I have found that the dates don't always jive. In my family, the Wiler Family, they changed the spellings of both first and last name, the dates for their birthday from death certificates and Baptismal certificates and the WWI draft are all off by one year. I don't know if they didn't really know their birthdate or, in the case of the draft, if they just didn't lie to suit their own purposes. It does become difficult.
