A John Whaley and his wife Susan signed a deed in In Huron Co., Ohio, Deed Book 53, p 419, a deed dated 6 Dec 1896, conveying John's interest in certain land. He was a heir of Mary Ann Scott Whaley Kitchen. This John was born abt 1844 in England and immigrated with his mother and ste-father, Wm Kitchen, and it appears the immigration records list him as John Kitchen. He first appears as John Whaley in the 1870 census, before that he is shown as John Kitchen. James Maloney
