Jean Barnes, Cleveland District Trustee of the Ohio Genealogical Society, will be the guest speaker at the Lorain County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society meeting on Monday, September 11, 2006 at the North Ridgeville Public Library, 35700 Bainbridge Rd. (East of SR 83), North Ridgeville. Miss Barnes will outline the benefits of membership in the Ohio Genealogical Society in researching Ohio family roots and furthering genealogy education. Miss Barnes, a life member of the Ohio Genealogical Society, has been a genealogist for over thirty years, and has commercially published three family histories. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, First Families, of Ohio, and Society of Civil War Families of Ohio. In the interest of promoting genealogy throughout the greater Cleveland Area, Jean founded the Cleveland District Round Table, a discussion group of the leadership representing genealogical societies from Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lorain, Medina, and Lake Counties.
