Do you have any information on him so I can be sure it is him. The Charles I have was born in Germany 30 Nov 1851. His father was Johan Frederick Gutzeit and his mother was Elizabeth Sophia Frederica Klingburg both of Germany. Charles was one of six siblings all born in Germany except the youngest. Charles died 10 May 1931. If this seems to be your 'Charles' let me know, for I have much on this line.

Hello all, I am new to your list, just found my GGF died at the State Soldiers Home and Hospital. This dirty old man was maried 4 times that I have found so far and had, according to him, 12 daughters and 6 sons. Only problem with that was that he forgot to divorce his wife before he married again, he just walked away and remarried. Lewis M Boden married Mary Mitchell in Wellsburg, WV 1868 before 1870 he married Harriet S Gover in Ohio and was living in Belmont Co in 1870, 1886 he married my GGM Ellen Pascoe in Carnegie PA, she was born in Ohio, in 1908 he married Ella Townsend in Ohio. I don't know when Mary Mitchell died but Harriet Gover died in 1925 in East Liverpool and Ellen Pascoe 1943 in Carnegie, PA. But Lewis reported tehm dieing much sooner in his Civil War Pension Records. Lewis died 09-02-1916 in the Soldiers home on Sandusky. What I would like to know is where can I get a copy of newspaper articles from the Sandusky Star Journal that I found through Ancestry.com, their link is not working and they have no idea when it will be up and running again. Newspaper dates I would like are 04-10-1916, 06-26-1916, 09-04-1916, 09-13-1916, 09-02-1916. Oh yea Mr Lewis Boden enlisted in the Civil War under Lewis Boden but later changed his name to Willgus and listed all his wives under Boden, only found him because when he wanted his pension he had to have the GAR make a name change for him in the records. Thank you for the help, I would like to write for copies of these articles ASAP. Terry Hutchison Cook

Hi List I searched the R. B. Hayes Presidential Library site for the obituary of Charles H. Wonderland who died at Sandusky Memorial Hospital on January 14, 1977 and it was not listed there. Perhaps it is too recent for the RBHayes to have it listed. However, I would like to find a copy. Can anyone help me obtain a copy from the library? I do not live in Ohio to search in person. Thanks. Joan
At our April meeting, Tom Neel, OGS Librarian, presented an overview of what is available at OGS Mansfield. Tom prepared us for our trip on Saturday, May 13th for a guided tour of the Ohio Genealogical Society facility at Mansfield. This will double as a tour and research day for those attending. If you are an early riser, you are welcome to join us for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, Sandusky Mall. We will leave from the mall at 8 am, arriving at OGS approximately 9:15 am. A guide will direct us to books of interest for Erie County research. Lunch is on your own or you may bring a brown bag lunch. If you are not a member of OGS, as a group we will be admitted free. Return departure time will be left up to each driver. Some may want to head home by 2:30 pm others may want to stay until closing at 5 pm. Come and join us as a rider or a driver. A donation paid to the driver will help cover transportation costs. If you are interested in 1. breakfast; 2. be a rider; 3. be a driver, please email Ann Gilcher at AGilcher@aol.com or Janis Burke at Janis@LRBCG.com as soon as possible. We want to be sure we have transportation for everyone interested in this trip. -- Erie County Chapter,OGS. Dues $10 per year.
