Roberta, You asked, snip> Looking for two obituaries...Thomas Bellamy...Emma Bellamy...<snip I did not locate an obits for Emma but here is the article for Thomas: Sandusky Register, 27 August 1922, page 5, col 5 Long Friends, Pioneer Residents of Berlin Township Die on Same Evening BERLIN HEIGHTS - August 26 - Friends throughout almost eight decades, P J Clark and Thomas Bellamy, pioneer residents of Berlin-tp, died within an hour of each other, Friday night. Both men held the respect of the entire community because of their lives of upright character and sterling honesty. The community mourns their loss. Thomas Bellamy, the younger of the two, died at the age of 80 years, two months and 29 days at his farm home east of here, where he had lived the greater part of his life. He was born in England but came to this community when a young lad. He was a charter member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge of Berlin Heights, of which order he was made an honorary memeber last year because of his being the oldest living memeber of the lodge. His friend and fellow lodge member, the Rev Benjamin Holtkamp of Mittawanga, will have charge of the funeral rites which will be held at the Berlin Heights Congregational church this afternoon commencing at 2:30 o'clock. The service will be under the direction of the K of P Lodge. Interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery. Mr Bellamy is survived by his widow and two sons, Edward at home and Thomas Bellamy of Elyria. Mr Clark who passed on within an hour of his friend, was aged 85 years and four months at the time of his death. He had lived his entire life in Belrin-tp. He was born near Ceylon and lived on the lake front farm west of Ceylon now occupied by his son H P Clark, until three years ago when he came to Berlin Heights to make his home with his daughter and her husbaned, Dr and Mrs G M Hine. He had been in failing health for the last year. The funeral services will be held from the residence of Dr and Mrs Hine Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. Mr Clark is survived by his daughter, Mrs Hine and a son H P Clark. Janis Erie County Chapter Ohio Genealogical Society -- Erie County Chapter,OGS. He is my g-g-grandfather. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Byers in 1865, right after his discharge from the war. His nickname was "Uncle Curl" and I have a photo of him somewhere. For those of you who don't know about the family move to Milan Twp. IN, it occurred abt 1846, per Amherst's obituary in the Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette on 31 May 1938. He is buried at Bowers Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, Allen Co., IN, along with Anson and many other Millers. I am in the process of sorting them all out, but do have quite a bit of info I am happy to share. I just took photos of Bowers tombstones and am working with local historians, church records keepers and funeral home directors to see what else I can dig up on the family. I, myself am stuck with Amherst, SR at this point, but do know he was born in CT and so were his parents. Amherst served in the Civil war and his obit was front page news because he had missed his first Memorial Day parade. Hope this helps and I'd love to hear from anyone researching this branch of the Millers, too!

However there is a small book there containing some earlier records and there continued to be more recoded after 1908 until 1912 or so, but not all. Best to go there yourself and check or you can write: Probate Court, 323 Columbus Ave, Sandusky OH 44870. My late step-father was and I am currently working with a granddaughter of James Darling b1837, a cousin of my stepfathers. I have only the birthdate of 1841-1842 for Franklin Darling, b/o James Darling b1837. I did find an 1860 census listing for a Frank Darling age 19 born IN living with the Preston Mullins family in what became Parsons Creek, Linn, MO; he was single and a laborer. Is that your grandfather? I wasn't sure from your email to me if you don't have descendents for James or perhaps not all of them for Franklin. I can provide the James info, or at least most of it. I have two other Franklin Darlings, or at least I think they are two different ones but I can't be positive. Both born 1867, one to James and Jane McKane Darling (this is the one I am suspect of) and the other to Stephan and Amanda Lee Darling (this is a good one since he clearly shows up on the census). Do you have any generations further back than your great-grandparents, Peter and Mercy Shepard Darling? If so, I would love to have that info. I believe that I am back a number of generations on the Darling/VandeBogart side but Mercy Shepard's roots continue to elude me after many many years. Please let me know what info I can send you that I might have. Sincerely Rose Barnstable
