Didn't find any obits for Edward but there is a Francis Morton married Katherine Lynch in 1892 and listed in the Fremont Courier (script German) on 11 Feb 1892 pg 4 col 4. 3. Janis, I have the obit from the Sandusky Daily Register 1/23/1919 for Josephine Linz. It doesn't offer any clues to any relatives. If the obit for Conrad Linz is 1873 for dod that can't be Josephine's husband b/c I have that he died in 1892 and my grandmother Sarah was born in 1884. He is still on the 1880 census spelled LEnz. On the 1900 census Josephine is a widow and it is spelled Line. I also have the Matrimonial Transfers from the weekly Register 12/3/1873 listing that Conrad Linz to Josephine Kromer had taken out a license to marry. . Conrad is also listed on a page from St. Mary's Cemetery as b. 1851 d. 1893 but Josephine's name isn't listed on that page. Conrad's parents, Ludwig and Roena Linz, are listed too. I sent for these from RBHayes site. *** I see looking at that site again that there are more listings for Josephine than the one I ordered: 1/23/1919 p. 8 col. 4. Maybe one of the others has more information. Could you check that for me? I think what they have listed for Conrad is what I said above and NOT his obit. *** Whatever you can send to help me figure out Josephine's parents, I will appreciate. I did locate the following information: Berlin Heights, Erie Co OH, West End Cemetery -Philip Morton, Co. C, 101st Ohio Inf, GAR -Mabel Morton, d. 5 Jan 1888, 30y 2m 4d, w/o C.A. Morton NOTE: Mabel may have been the wife of Charles, Charles being Sarah's son. Philip was Sarah's husband. You may want to obtain his military/pension records for more info on the family. Obituary in the Sandusky Daily Register, 28 Feb 1900, pg 3 col 5 The many friends of Mrs Sarah Morton were shocked to hear of her death which occurred at the home of Mr & Mrs C A Morton in Elyria on Sunday. The body was brought to Berlin Tuesday for funeral services being held in the Congregational Church. Obituary in the Sandusky Daily Register, 7 March 1900, pg 6 col 3 Mrs Sarah Morton, whose remains were brought to Berlin from Elyria last Tuesdaay, died at the residence of her son, C A Morton on the preceeding Sunday of pneumonia, having been ill for only one week but owing to her feeble condition, no hopes were entertained of her recover by the family or the physician in charge. Mrs Morton was 76y of age at the time of her death and when 6 years of age came to America with her parents and has been a resident of Berlin the greater portion of her life, having moved to Elyria only a few months previous to her last sickness. She was the widow of Philip who was one of Berlins well known citizens, and leaves one son Charles A to mourn his loss. She was a kind neighbor and friend, and her sudden death proved a surprise to her many friend. Hudson Tuttle conducted the funeral services at the Congregaional Church, assisted by Rev Fancher. Since Sarah died in Elyia, Lorain Co, you may want to ask for assistance from the OhLorain website. If you need further research in Erie County, please let me know. 3. There is a book called "Erie County Ohio Cemetery Census Before 1909." In it I find buried in the WEST END CEMETERY a PHILIP MORTON Co. C. 101st Ohio Inf. G.A.R. There is no other information for him. I find no Sarah Morton. Perhaps if you would obtain his C.W. military /pension records from NARA you would find more information on Sarah. If she applied for his pension there should be proof of their marriage. Also her death because the pension would stop at her death. Good hunting, Kay Genealogy without documentation is mythology

If there is, would someone be so kind as to do a lookup for me? I am looking for Sarah Morton. According to the Rutherford B Hayes obituary index, she died in Elyria on Feb 25, 1900, but is buried in Berlin, Ohio. This informaton was gleaned from the following link: http://index.rbhayes.org/hayes/index/record_detail.asp?id=190691 She was born in England about 1825 and was married to Philip Morton. She was his second wife and they lived in Erie County in the 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 census. I have been unable to locate them after that so finding her in the RB hayes index was a big break. So, if a cemetery listing exists, would someone be so kind as to check it for Sarah and Philip Morton to see where they are interred. I appreciate your help and hope that your New Year is your best year yet. Blessings

I have not yet found the name of the stockyard, but have rec'd a lot of helpful info from Gordon, Lynne, Rosemary & JoAnn. I've looked in countless city directories, at Cinti Historical @ Museum Ctr & downtown & school libraries, web census & auditor web sites for property/ owner info. I did find that twice, maybe more often, street names had been changed as the city grew. Some I've found the new names for, some have been lost to the previous generations. This past Monday, Christmas 2006, I found a photo in my Mom's boxes of photos that's ancient - a group of men in suits standing outside a store that says Hoffman(n)s Meats.Late 1800s or early 1900s?There are barrells of something too, vegetables ? There are dozens of photos with no names on the back.I don't recognize anyone, looks like before my Mom or her parents were born. My Grandpa Edward Vincent Teetor's parents are Carrie Meurer & Edward Daniel Teetor. Carrie's parents were Elizabe! th "Lizzie" Schilferth(Schiffert?) & Gus/Gustave/August Meurer. Lizzie is buried in Walnut Hills Cemetary with near a daughter that died at age 14 or 15, and there are two other girls who were small, along with my Grandpa's brother Howard who died in 1926, not yet 2 years old. Lizzie's Schilerth Meurer's parents were Mary Hoffmann/Hoffman & Sebastian Schilferth( i really cannot make out the correct spelling of her maiden name, on any document). Has anyone heard of Hoffman's Meats before ? Do you have any records? I haven't found where Gus Meurer is buried, he lived in Indiana & 'died in Lookout IN April 25, 1936, husband of Louise Meurer.' Louise/(Ludwina on 1 photo) is his second wife, that my Uncle Butch/Wilbur remembers. Lizzie died in 1909. Hope this helps. I have found very few death cerificates yet, some of the folks at the library have watched me struggle for 5 or 6 hours & do not care to help, I always mess up the microfilm too. Sometimes I get lucky & get a little! info each trip, sometimes none. I'll send what I find & appreciate an y deatils you are willing to share or send me. I've access to a copier at work, short on free time to search. Love ya all & hope to someday MEET some of you!! -Mary Bush, squierfan@aol.com Dec. 30, 2006
