Pat Volz American Lung Association of Ohio -----Original Message----- From: oherie-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:oherie-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Donna Edmondson Sent: Saturday, January 27, 2007 7:28 PM To: OHERIE@rootsweb.com Subject: [OHERIE] FRASHER brothers in Berlin Twp 1860-1880 I am seeking information re: two brothers who lived in BerlinTwp, Erie Co, Oh. during the years of 1860 - 1880. I have their census record information, which states they were from Wurtemburg. I do not know if they were naturalized. Land records seem to appear to have been in their wive's names. FRASHER, Fred, b. abt 1827, Germany, shoemaker, m. Sarah_________, b. NY. Fred died abt. 1870's, at the young age of abt 47, likely, in Berlin Twp., which may have been where he was buried. FRASHER, Joseph, b. abt 1833, Germany, farmer, m. Phila Gillett, likely in NY. Joseph was last recorded in 1870, living in Berlin Twp. In 1880, his widow, Phila, was living in Berea, with the children. I believe that Joseph may have been buried in a Lorain cemetery, however, there is no headstone to verify that. My questions are: 1. Is there a book or listing of tombstone records for cemeteries in Erie Co? Any listing online? 2. Would there have been obituaries in the 1870's? If so, where might I find these? 3. Would a German newspaper have been available in Erie Co? 4. Was there a German church located in the nearby area of Berlin Twp? I would appreciate any assistance that someone 'out there' might share. Thank you so much, Donna, So Cal. --------------------------------- Never Miss an Email Stay connected with Yahoo! Mail on your mobile. He lived in the "John Daly" household, before buying his own land in Pittsfield, Lorain, OH. I have Naturalization papers for both John and James. What I would like is for someone to check Erie Probate records for a marriage of James to one Ann Maria Moran. The year range would be 1832-1840. Also, I'd deeply appreciate copies of any legal documents concerning John and/or James. I would gladly pay any fees required. Also, if anyone is working on this Daly line, please let me hear from you. Sincerely, Patricia

I would appreciate any info. anyone may have. Here is what I've found out so far.I have discovered that my g-g-g granfather was Daniel Smith b. 1800 in CT, married to Anna(maiden name unknown) b. 1806 in CT. I am trying to find out who his parents were. I think they may have been part of the Firelands settlement. They are shown in the 1840 and 1850 census in Milan and I'm pretty sure they were in OH by 1825 since the oldest child was born in OH but I'm not sure where they are in the 1830 census since # of children doesn't match what I have from other censuses. In 1850 they are shown living with 4 children Caroline 25, Joel 23( mistakenly listed as age 33), Ambrose 22, and Jane,21,(as well as Joseph and Sarah Clark, ages 24 and Benjamin Turner age 2.) Ambrose is my ancestor and by 1860 he had married ELizabeth and moved to Floyd County, Iowa with his family. Daniel's other son, Joel, appears to have stayed and farmed in Milan until his death between 1887 and 1900, married twice to 1) M. who is gone after 1860, and 2)Celia A (married to Joel by 1874). Joel had 4 children by M.: Walter, Franklin, Burton, and Earnest and 3 by Celia: Earl, Dessie, and Bessie. Celia is widowed and living with her 3 children in 1900 which is as far as I followed them. I have no idea what happened to Daniel and Anna after 1850, and would love to find some info on Daniel's lineage and Anna's. Thanks~ Kristin

I don't know if there is any connection to my Sengstock family and this Ferdinand Sengstock. My Sengstock/Dordel family came from Koppalin near the Baltic Sea. I have never been able to find any genealogy information from that area. In my effort to do so, I came across this name you've submitted and have had correspondence with a lady in Australia who I believe is a decendant. I am away from all my records until possibly May, 07 so I can't access anything that could help you right now. If you aren't able to find the Australian connection, contact me again in about April and when I get back I'll see if I can locate my previous research and letter from Australia. I'm not sure if I have kept it. Meanwhile if you should ever come across anything on my Koppalin Sengstock/Dordel branch, I would certainly appreciate your letting me know. By the way, I keep the address K Island@aol because I have no idea how many places I posted genealogy information with that address, but for! a quicker response from me, please e-mail me at Inletcity@aol.com Thanks and good luck.

It doesn't offer any clues to any relatives. If the obit for Conrad Linz is 1873 for dod that can't be Josephine's husband b/c I have that he died in 1892 and my grandmother Sarah was born in 1884. He is still on the 1880 census spelled LEnz. On the 1900 census Josephine is a widow and it is spelled Line. I also have the Matrimonial Transfers from the weekly Register 12/3/1873 listing that Conrad Linz to Josephine Kromer had taken out a license to marry. . Conrad is also listed on a page from St. Mary's Cemetery as b. 1851 d. 1893 but Josephine's name isn't listed on that page. Conrad's parents, Ludwig and Rosena Linz, are listed too. I sent for these from RBHayes site. *** I see looking at that site again that there are more listings for Josephine than the one I ordered: 1/23/1919 p. 8 col. 4. Maybe one of the others has more information. Could you check that for me? I think what they have listed for Conrad is what I said above and NOT his obit. *** Whatever you can send to help me figure out Josephine's parents, I will appreciate.
