Thanks so much...I'll try it, Sue. Ruth C.
Sorry for the confusion. Yes, what I meant was to enter the names into the computer. Do you have a database program such as Microsoft Works? You could use one of the templates for phone lists or address book and enter the names and use the phone number field or address field for the date of the letter. You might have to enter the date like this: 010899 rather than in the typical 01/08/99 fashion.Once entered, you could simply look for the name using the "search" function of the program. Hope this helps. Sue J.

-From the 1902 "Firelands Pioneer", page 937: " Jones, Mrs. Julia, was a daughter of Thomas Starr and Clementina Clark, very early settlers in Erie county, and whose marriage was the first one occurring in Florence, and was born in Berlin township, December 5, 1821. She was married to Alexander Jones, May 29, 1842, and they came to Clarksfield in 1844. In 1855 they moved to Rochester, Ohio, and in 1875 to Cleveland, where Mr. Jones died. She died in Rochester, Jan- uary 4, 1902."

Hi, Not sure what you mean...the letters are in a book not on the computer. But, I could slowly put the date of letter with the names included in each one on the computer and thus look them up easily as they are in chonilogical order. Thanks...unfortunately I don't have a scanner. Ruth
To Ruth - This is just a suggestion, but if you have a computer with a small database program, now might be the time to key in those names in the letters, and then you won't have to go through all 50 letters to look for a particular name, just do a lookup in the database. This will preserve your mind ): and the letters. Sue Johnson

Jennifer Just off the top of my head - C.C. KEECH owned a large home on Hayes Avenue at one time. It was sold or donated and was the first home to Providence Hospital. The current Providence Hospital building is on the site of the KEECH home. This was quite awhile ago, but you sould be able to get lots of info on him. He was indeed prominent in Sandusky history. I will check my sources and see if I can add anymore info. Carol A. Steele Sandusky, Erie Co., OH

I saw a duck the other day It had the feet of my Aunt Faye. Then it walked, was heading South. It waddled like my Uncle Ralph. And when it turned, I must propose, Its bill was formed like Aunt Jane's nose. I thought, "Oh, no! It's just my luck, Someday I'll look just like a duck." I sobbed to Mom about my fears, And she said, "Honey, dry your tears. You look like me, so walk with pride. Those folks are all from Daddy's side." ==== GenHumor Mailing List ==== !^NavFont02F01730007NGHHH750E84 Maggie's World of Courthouse Dust & Genealogy Fever http://www.infinet.com/~dzimmerm/mindex.html *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* God Put Me On Earth to Accomplish a Certain Number of Things.
