Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/1VB.2ACE/862.881.1031.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Since I occasionally follow the 'boards', I came upon your message from March 2002 and although it is over 6 months old, I though that I would share this with you. If one of your ancestors is Christopher George Leimbach (1853-1931) who married Elizabeth Kuchmann (Kishman), (1860-1956) and had four children, of whom Robert Louis Leimbach (1890-1966) is one, then I may have you listed in my copy of the Leimbach Genealogy. C. Croulet, by the way, is also listed in my copy on page 25. I know you have the Leimbach Genealogy and maybe the Hahn Genealogy and the Baumhardt Genealogy to round out your 'Brownhelm memories'. I was in Brownhelm Twp. visiting my wife's relatives (Trinters) and took a picture of the old church on Claus Rd. Did you know it is now a 'museum'. I sent a picture of it to Curtis. I stay in touch with Mrs John (Betty) Trinter since I am attempting to do their 'genealogy'. Pardon the intrusion. Have a Happy Holiday! Ray MacFarlane - Thiensville, WI

If not, there is a Leimbach Genealogy that has many (if not all) of the Leimbach family members that interacted with and resided near the Minchs, the Trinters, the Hagemans, the Baumhardts and many others. I think you may have spoken with C. Croulet who was one of the 'contributors' to this genealogy. For additional info, you may want to contact duncolt1 @ cs.com. If that e-mail address is still 'active', he might be able to answer your questions. I show a 'Louis Leimbach' (1883-1969), the son of Peter J. Leimbach (1850-1929) and Emma Heisner (1853-1891), emigrating to Germany with Edward G. Leimbach (1891) and Elma I. Trina Leimbach (1894-1958). If any of this is useful, feel free to contact myself or any of the others listed. Good luck! Ray MacFarlane - Thiensville, WI

One of the initial questions was about records. First UCC (as it's now known) does not have records readily available. Their originals (I know of no copies) are kept in a safe off of the premises. Because of my family's relationship (3 of the beautiful stained glass windows in the church are dedicated to family members), I have been able to arrange to look over the records - one volume entirely in German. As a rule, though, these records are not generally accessible.
