Hello Paul: Apparently my great grandfather had several relatives living in Erie Co. My guess is that it is between 1875-1881 or even longer than that. One person found some Georges buried in one of the cemeteries in Sandusky, and they were German immigrants. I have sent this info to my aunt and I await her reply as to whether these names ring a bell. She said they used to visit George relatives back in the 1930's when she was a child. Thank you, Shari

I'm looking for info on Lloyd & Elizabeth Lawrence. Lloyd was born in Wakeman, Erie Co, OH sometime in the 1890's, he married Elizabeth Porter of Lorain and for a time lived in Birmingham and later in New London, Huron Co., OH. I found an Elizabeth Lawrence buried in the Grove Street Cemetery, New London (1898-1965) Mother (Sec 6 Row 23). I did not see her husband buried with her, don't know if they had any children. Anyone know of these folks? Does Huron Co have an obituary index or a death index for the year 1965? thanks, Maureen
There were two Catholic cemeteries in the city of Sandusky between 1907 and 1910. Both are located on Mills St across the street from each other. St. Joseph's at the corner of Seneca and Mills St. St. Mary's on Mills St at the foot of Seneca St. St. Mary's was primarily German. Lee Westerhold > >
Can anyone point me in the direction of most likely Catholic Cemetery in Sandusky, Erie County between 1907 and 1910? I am trying to locate two children from one family. Parents are Frank De Caro (DeCaro/Decaro) and Enrichetta (Henrietta/Rachela) Esposito. They lived in Sandusky, but I do not have their address during these dates. 1) Josephine or Giuseppa De Caro (DeCaro/Decaro) She was born in Feb/Mar 1907 in Sicily and was healthy when she arrived in the USA in Oct of that year. On the 1910 census she is deceased. 2) Sex unknown. Born 1908/1909 likely in Sandusky. (Next children older and younger were born there.) Died before 11 June 1910, but probably not long after birth. If it was a boy his name would have been Niccola/Nicholas. If it was a girl her name would have been Josephine/Giuseppa. They followed the Italian tradition of naming the children after the grandparents. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to locate where they were buried. I have not been able to locate them through the Death Indexes research services. Sharon in CA

By the way, I have a copy of the Gysan history recorded at a Gysan-Krueger reunion by my Grandfather in 1959. If you would like a copy of it, send your address to me. It is very interesting.

I am trying to find out about my grandfather, Clair Hazel Walker. I was told a story that he was killed in an automobile accident, probably in April 1926. At that time, his residence was on Grand Street. I do not know the exact address, just the street name. Clair was born in Amherst, Lorain County, OH, abt 1888. He married Pearl Leoline Moyer, probably in Bellevue, Huron County, OH, in the fall of 1909. Clair and Pearl had five daughters. Pauline and Geraldine (twins), LaVahn, Lois, and Audrey. If anybody out there knows anything about this family, please contact me either through this mailing list, or at my e-mail address. Thank you in advance for any information you can send my way. Patricia
Janis, Thank you so very much. This is so helpful. I have most of Angelo's brother's and sister's birth certificates, but I was missing two children, this is so helpful. Research is further complicated by the fact that their father Anthony had a brother Frank and they followed the Italian tradition of naming their children after parents, grandparents and other family members. Each family had 12 children all born in Sandusky and it has been a challenge to get them straight. Thank you again, Sharon in CA
