    1. [OHErie] Sandusky Library info from the Erie Co Chapter OGS
    2. Steele
    3. Listers The speaker for our Meeting last Monday was Dennis McMullen, Head of Reference at the Library & the Follet House Museum. He showed us floor plans for the Library after the addition and the remodeling of the old section is completed. The area looks to be great for quiet research - something that has been lacking for years! However we still have to wait before all this is finished. The whole Library is tentatively scheduled to be closed for 3 weeks in June to facilitate the move of everything into the addition. The old building will then be remodeled - which will take many weeks to complete. Sometime in the Fall that will be finished and things will be moved to where they will be permanently. Those of you who live at a distance should know that there will be closings during the above moves, so be sure and contact the Library to see whether they will be open if you are planning a research trip. Also noteworthy is that many of the genealogy resources which have been in storage in the basement for several years will now be brought back out for use!!! Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1VB.2ACE/11394.2 Message Board Post: My great grandfather, Christian Henry Ohlemacher, was a brother of John. I have been researching the family for a few years and have a lot of, but by no means complete, information of the Ohlemacher family and their spouses. In fact I just recieved an electronic copy of a 1896 newspaper article telling of the "Ghost of Captain Henry Haines" from another Ohlemacher researcher. Henry would be Henrietta's father. I followed the thread on the RootsWeb site and saw the message from Liz. I can tell you with certainty that this is not the Ohlemacher family that John is descended from. You can contact me directly and I will be happy to share any information that I have. - Carol

However, I am researching the Haynes family, form which Henrietta Ohlemacher derived. Henrietta was a sister of my great grandfather, William Henry Haynes. I am hoping to connect with descendants of Henrietta and John Ohlemacher to get a better picture of the Haynes family and their origins. The book you mention may offer some help in locating them, and I will look for it at my earliest opportunity. Thank you for your kindness.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1VB.2ACE/11394.1 Message Board Post: I have seen a great book written by Ohlemacher family members in several libraries in that area of OHIO. I don't have the book to see if your names are listed or not. Here is a summary from that book which pertains to my family. For more information regarding the Ohlemacher family, see "A Geneology, History and Biographical Story of Daniel Ohlemacher & Dorrathea Ohlemacher Hund (1855 to 1979)". The book is located in the genealogy rooms of the Norwalk Public Library and Bellevue Public Library. On 25 December 1856 in Norwalk, Huron County, OH, William Miller Jr. married Phillippiene Ohlemacher. She was the daughter of Daniel Ohlemacher and Dorothy Sauer who were from Burg Schwalbach, Nassau, Germany. Phillippiene, nicknamed Bena, was born 23 January 1836 in Bachsculbach or Buchwalbach Amt Dietz Germany. The family bible of William Miller Jr. says her birth location was the latter while a 1979 Ohelmacher family genealogy book lists the first location. Phillippiene came to America with her brother, Philip Ohlemacher and sister, Jennie (Yona) Ohlemacher about 1855. The rest of her family followed in the early 1860's. Phillippiene's Ohlemacher siblings were Frederick Johann; Elizabeth; Philip; Christina; Christine; Minnie and Helene. Frederick Johann Ohlemacher married Wilhelmina Loos Elizabeth Ohlemacher married Peter Euler Philip Ohlemacher married Christina Hund, his first cousin. Nettie Ohlemacher married Philip Dietrich Christina (Jennie,Yona) Ohlemacher married Adam Senft William and Phillippiene Ohlemacher Miller had three children - William Miller, Charles Miller and Henry Miller in Huron County, before she died on 22 January 1861. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Ridgefield Township Huron County OH. Hope this helps. Liz Miller ([email protected])
