Familysearch is showing a date of March 11 1880 in Erie county. On the 1900 census they are married for 20 years and have had 8 children, 6 living. As for Augusta having a twin, I can't find anything. But I do have a copy of Jacob's obit (1921) if interested.

I'm looking for a marriage (record, lisence) for Jacob Bechtel & Anna Berner in Erie County. I don't have an exact date but I believe the year would be 1882. And the birth record is for the first child (Augusta) born in October of 1883. If you find this, I'd like a copy, but I'd like to know if Augusta is a twin? Thank you so much. Mystery!

The Farnsworth I am looking for is Reverend Ronald Farnsworth but I do not think he would be 70 in 1975 but you never know. I think his wife's name was Barbara. At one time he was at a church in PA. 1. Marriage License Huron County
    2. Hi List, Many months ago I requested a lookup through RAOK for two marriage license look ups for Huron County, Ohio but never got a response. This is the first request I have made to RAOK and do not know if the request would be acknowledged if it cannot be accomplished? However, I have never had any response. I was told that Huron County marriage records are listed alphabetically. I need a record of a marriage license where I only have an estimate of the year it was obtained. There are two grooms, but the bride's names are not known. I desperately need the bride's names and that of their parents. Other Ohio marriage license records I have obtained included this information. Anyone with information about obtaining marriage record file numbers in Huron County? I would send for a copy of the license if I can find the record file number since I do not live in Ohio. I appreciate any information offered and would be very grateful! Thanks Joan

    1. LaPrairie Cemetery aka St. Philomena's near Erie Co border
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Witscher, Wagner, Gonya, DeMars, LaPoint, Darr, Bissnet &more Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1VB.2ACE/11716 Message Board Post: My ancestors lived in Section 26 of Rice Township, about 1/2 mile from the Ottawa County border, and not far from the border with Erie County. From what I have found, their connections extended across the county lines between, Sandusky, Ottawa, and Erie counties. Some of my mother's family is thought to be buried in the first Catholic Cemetery in Sandusky County, known as St. Philomena's, or La Prairie. Many of those buried there were of French descent. It is located north of Fremont, or what was known as Lower Sandusky, (or little Sandusky), in the area known as Muddy Creek. It was a mission church, and many of the records are scattered, making it hard to know who was buried there if there was no headstones. Presently, there is a marker with the names of those which could be found. However, if you suspect you may have a relative there whose name is not on the marker, it is very possible you may be able to find the record of their internment, such as I did. Frank Joseph Witscher, is buried at La Prairie, and died in 1896. The Diocese of Toledo owns the cemetery. What now appears to be the cemetery ground is smaller than what the original boundaries were, since, some of it (some say as much as 1/2) may have been taken over by marsh. There have been efforts by the Gonya family and others whose ancestors are buried there to help restore the cemetery headstones. 3 to 4 of my mother's family ancestors were buried without headstones, and so finding the records is especially important for us, but it is very difficult. We have contacted the Diocese about the condition of the cemetery, and the marsh, where we fear, may be where the section, where those who could not afford headstones lies. I am looking for others who may be having a problem with finding their ancestors there, or who may also be concerned about the conditions there. Please contact me on this list.

    2. Carol, When I was in grade school in Toledo at the old Beverly School on corner of S. Detroitg and Glanzman, Our principal was a Miss Winafred Pittinger.Thjs Pittinger family was living in Waterville Ohio in Lucas County. Also back when my GGG grandfatther was living in Wayne County in the 1820s there was a Pittinger living there. Also check into the childrens indentured list. This same Pittinger had taken in a child whose parents or one had died and the remaining parent gave up his daughter into indenture to teach her how to be a governness or teacher. I believe the little girl was 6 years old. Her brother was indentured to my GG uncle John Cripliver to be taught how to be a cooper or chair caner until he was18 years old then given tools of his trade to go off on his own.
