Hello All, When: It will soon be upon us! June is the month of the 2003 Annual ListFest - the 4th Greenville get-together of the Darke County List along with any others who are interested in Darke County genealogy! Mark June 21st at the Shawnee Prairie Preserve on your calendars and plan to join us. You will find further particulars at: http://www.dcoweb.org/listfest/listfest.htm What: For those of you who don't know what it is, the ListFest is our yearly opportunity to actually meet those with whom we correspond throughout the year, some of the local authors of the area (who hopefully will be bringing some of their books to sell), and some of the BIG names in Miami Valley genealogy - those who have been so helpful in assisting us find our roots. A few of those well-knowns who regularly attend are Joe Bosserman, Gale Honeyman, Linda McDaniel, Tom Midlam (who is the driving force behind the www.dcoweb.org presentation), Roger Spencer and Becky Stephens who have now published FOUR photographic readings of Darke County cemeteries and are presently working on the next along with the assistance of Michael Reck. You will be able to once again greet those Genealogical Society members who are always so helpful when we visit the Library. All in all, it's REALLY a fun day! Special offer: Last year we had some problems with our name tags. I remember the men putting them through their shirt buttons and the women having a most difficult time finding a place to wear them. This year, if you know that you are coming in enough time, Wayne has volunteered to make us CUSTOM name tags! If you know that you will be attending, send your name and the Darke County surnames that you would like displayed on your nametag. Wayne will add those families that he has room for on the tag and it will be waiting for your arrival at the ListFest. Please rank your families in order of importance to you to have displayed. For those of you who wait until the last minute to decide, we will have blank nametags for you to fill out when you arrive and this year, I promise, they will STICK!
