I am sure that my ancestor is Elizabeth Burns who married Frederick Shenefelt or Shonefield. I have a slight problem with this line, though - outlined below. If you can help me or know anyone who can - please let me know. Here is my Shenefelt family. Frederick Shenefelt b. 1791 son of John Shenefelt and Elizabeth Shenefelt (cousins) d.22 Jan 1852 m. before 1819 Elizabeth Burns b. about 1795 of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania daughter of Henry Burns of Darke Co., Ohio Children: John Burns Shenefelt b.24 Dec 1819 d. 15 Nov 1909 Susanna Shenefelt b. 24 Aug 1821 d. 8 May 1842 Abraham B. Shenefelt 22 Dec 1824 d 3 Aug 1880 Isaac Shenefelt b.1 Feb 1829 d.23 Jan 1903 Nancy Shenefelt b.19 October 1830 d. 1 Dec 1891 Margaret Shenefelt b. 29 Sept 1832 d. 20 July 1918 Sarah Ann Shenefelt b. 2 Dec 1834 d. 21 March 1918 Here is the problem. There are 6 other children that belong to Frederick Shenefelt and second wife Mary. Their oldest is Mary Ann Shenefelt b. 15 Jan 1836 in Huntingdon Co., Pa. (I have her obit that gives her birth date and says her 1/2 sisters were Sarah and Margaret.) So that means Elizabeth Burns apparently died between 2 Dec 1834 and April 1835. However - Elizabeth Burns was named in her father's estate distribution in Darke County, Ohio on April 17, 1838 as the wife of Frederick Shonafield. Is it possible that her answer to the court was received earlier and just posted on April 17, 1838? I have been unable to find a tombstone for Elizabeth or a marriage date for Frederick to Mary. I have other information that supports the fact that Elizabeth died but these dates don't seem to make sense with the other information. Thanks for all your help. Linda
