Hello, Folks, Three of us are trying to identify the SHIELDS ancestry and families of these in the census below. Can anyone else help? We do not know who the parents of William (59y) are below. It looks like his wife (Elizabeth) could be a second wife who would be the mother of Franklin, Edward, & George B.(?Berman) C. Shields. Then who are Thomas and George J. in this family? I would be unlikely at this time period (but not unusual) for a man to have two sons named George. Living next door we have another William. That William is believed to be William Shields, wife probably Anna Maria Hathaway. That William is believed to be a son of Isaac M.
