    3. The cream pie was a creation of Betty Nichols (yes, Wayne's wife). I'm sure that Wayne will pass this question on to Betty. --Jane -----Original Message----- From: John.Cramer@das.state.oh.us [mailto:John.Cramer@das.state.oh.us] Sent: Monday, June 23, 2003 3:51 PM To: OHDARKE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [OHDARKE] Recipes of Darke County listfest Hi June My wife got a copy of the recipe from who ever made it. The O.F. cream pie was great. I can get the ladies name who made it but I think it was Wayne Nichols wife. She should get the right to supply recipe if she cooked it. John W Cramer << From: ["June E. Hulit" <kerryoh@sssnet.co] Subject: [OHDARKE] Pot Pie Recipes of Darke County Yesterday at the ListFest --- I saw something I have not seen in years!!! Chicken Pot Pie!!! And boy was it GOOD!!! My compliments to whomever made it --- but I understand --- Jane you commented -- that there was a discussion one time about Pot Pie Recipes of Darke County....what was that all about??? Since my grandmother was from Darke County --- it "threw me" when I saw this "pot pie" because I have not seen it since my grandmother left this earth!!! She always made it for the holidays and my cousins and I LOVED IT!!! Also there was a "cream pie." Did someone make that? Because grandmother made a "cream pie" that was simply sugar and milk baked. Some folks call it Sugar Pie, Milk Pie, or "Poor Man's Pie" but my cousins and I found out that you HAVE to make your crust and then pour the milk, sugar, etc. into the crust and "stir" it with your finger to get the consistency to be the same as our grandmothers...so is this another recipe from "Darke County?" It was sweet with nutmeg and cinnamon in it. Really curious since this appeared on the table yesterday too! Thanks for any info. >> ==== OHDARKE Mailing List ==== Visit the OHDARKE List Information page at http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/usa/OH/darke.html Subscribe, unsubscribe, view list archives, etc. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
