Riegle, 77, passed away Friday, November 19, 2004 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Riegle was born September 2, 1927 in Darke County, Ohio, the son of Ollie and Esther House Riegle, graduated high school there, and attended college. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. At one time he served as Mayor of New Madison, Ohio, and moved with his family in 1959 to Muncie where he was in the plumbing and heating wholesale business for many years. He was president and manager of the J & J Supply Company until his retirement. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Selma, Indiana, and a fifty year member of Fort Black Masonic Lodge in New Madison, Ohio. Surviving are his wife of over 52 years, Pauline Rudolph Riegle; four children, Darryl Riegle (wife-Deb), Dublin, Ohio, Darlene Tague (husband-Steve), Fishers, Amy Nichols (husband-Jeff), Cumberland, and Dwight Riegle, Muncie; nine grandsons and two granddaughters, Evan, Blaine, and Ryan Riegle, Nathan and Brian Tague, Cameron and Caleb Nichols, Kyle, Silas, Melody and Lydia Riegle; and a sister, Donna Harter, New Madison, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Robert Harter, who died in June of this year. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in THE MEEKS MORTUARY and CREMATORY CHAPEL, 415 E. Washington Street, Muncie, Indiana 47305. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, southeast of Muncie. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory 1-5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
