Stephenson and Buchanan are the families I descend from. Some early - 1830 to 1850- sibs married into Steele and Stahl, Johnson and Robbins surnames so I'd be interested in them also. Does anyone know what companies men from Darke Co. joined during the Civil War? I know my grandfather, John W, Stephenson fought as I have an Oregon Veteran's Census notation. But, there are so many John Stephensons who served from Ohio I'd need more specific info to access his papers from the National Archives.
