    3. Hello, I have come across the information on many trees that Sarah Holdeman, daughter of Jacob H and Mary (Brickley) married an Abel Chew or Abel Woolston Chew. I believe the source of that information is from From Peter Farvo's Descendants of John Holderman/Halderman, etc There were two Sarah Holdeman/Halderman girls in Allen Tsp just about the same age and b. abt 1844. Both were daughters of different Jacob Holderman/Halderman's. 1850 US Census - Allen tsp, Darke Co, OH Jacob Holderman 40 M Pa Elizabeth 37 F Pa (this would be Riegal) S? 12 F Pa Felix 10 M Pa Henry 7 M Oh Sarah 5 F Oh (listed as Salome on some census) 1850 US Census - Allen tsp, Darke Co, OH JH Holderman 27 M Penn (Jacob H) Mary 29 F Penn (this would be Brickley) Sarah Jane 6 F Ohio Anna B. 4 F Ohio I believe due to their close proximity on the 1870 census, it was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Riegal) that married Abel. In the 1870 census, Sarah and husband Abel live 4 doors down from Jacob and Elizabeth Riegal. Jacob and Mary Brickley were in PA in 1870 with the rest of their children. Also I have the autobiography of one of Jacob and Mary Brickley's sons, Josiah, who writes of his other siblings but makes no mention of Sarah or her husband. Their Sarah could have died between 1850 & 1860, as it is unlikely she married someone else at 14 or younger - she is not with the family on the 1860 census. 1870 US Census - Allen tsp, Darke Co, OH CHEW: Abel 26 NJ Salome 25 OH Jacob 6 OH Willis 5 OH Cora C. 3 OH Thomas 2 mos OH ---------------------------------------------- 4 doors further down same page: HOLDERMAN: Jacob 60 PA Elizabeth 56 PA Melinda 16 OH I am hoping to find a death certificate for Sarah Jane Holdeman or Holderman, daughter of Jacob H Holderman and Mary Brickley between 1850 and 1860.
